Sensational to see the development of these technologies! I have GLAUCOMA and I suffer absurdly with the light from the monitors, mainly. I was having so much difficulty and pain in my eyes that I almost abandoned 3 years of study for the civil service exam, my salvation was a 10-inch kindle (kindle scribe) that ended my pain in my eyes! I recommend it to everyone who has glaucoma and suffers from pain while reading due to excessive dryness caused by the eye drops. I hope to see these technologies in monitors.I can't wait to be able to test a tablet with this Technology, the kindle is good but it has limited functions, a computer and a professional monitor with these functions is really a dream.

They have a 14 inch tablet version that you could probably use as a small monitor! Glad you found some tech that helps your eyes

you are surely already using the Darkreader extension, correct?

TCL also came out with a tablet as well. NXTPAPER 14 Pro, which has a similar screen, but with a bigger size. And it also has the Dimensity 8020 chipset for good performance.

I mean, they might fix bugs and stuff right?, this might launch with Android 14, and api level is still on android 6... so... you will still get app support, feature wise, every android update have less features (and more issues, seriously, heck, google is implemented locking stuff via play store api these days).

Why is this still not on the market, I am tired of waiting!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't they make a desktop monitor with the same technology already!

I hear you but this actually looks different in person, blacks appear ghostly making certain video shoots appear to have more depth. Reading is delightful where as a screen protector that is Matt only makes things fuzzy and the light diffraction is very different. I only tried these out in the store though.

Reading the title, I thought TCL collaborated with the company 'Paperlike', who make paper-like screen protectors. CNET should change 'Paperlike' to paper-like.

It's still a glass screen, just with an extra diffusion layer underneath. TCL uses MediaTek chipsets meaning you can't unlock your device and remove the TCL apps that can spy on users, but that's something each user has to decide for themselves.

@@cryptogenie01 the data from most major US companies stays in the US and their procedures are regularly audited. You can't eliminate the need for trust, but you can minimize it.

I wish there was an option for mini led displays since every device that I use with an oled display already have burn in issues and the display has even gotten dimmer and the white colors turn yellow like a clear cell phone case that turns yellow.

How is this different than just a matte screen cover? Cuz you can "paperlike" any phone with an anti glare screen protector. What does it offer that's BETTER than a cover?

There's an extra layer between screen and matte layer that prevents at least some blue light from being emitted. Elsewhere on KZread, a Chinese or Taiwanese man reviews the older model in great detail.

Less glare , better for long periods of readings in comparison to normal lcd/oled , better viewing in direct sun light . Interesting to see how these clams work in practical scenarios .

The screen is GARBAGE! It's extremely poor design, half the time when you press on the screen you don't even get the correct area activated. Using the keyboard is beyond frustrating! Pos phone.
