i have alcatel 1066d/1068 as my main phone while using tab/smartphone cant be ignored at all. yes indeed a month of using it even it very hard at start, my life improved and more focused.

I ditched my smart phone and got a dumb phone. It’s change my life for the better.

If they had a full keyboard I’d consider a ‘dumb phone’

Some ‘dumb phones’ have slide out keyboards

some of the Nokia dumb phones has some nice features especially these with the kaiOS, its a bit slow but usable. i when't with a doro as it feels like the buttons are going to hold on for longer as the nokia phones seem to be too cheaply made for the price. the doro 731x phone that got all i need, even got wifi hotspot so that if my phone can't do one particular task i just connect the phone to the laptop or other type of device if i need to do banking and stuff like that. and for the texting on the good old number keyboard, it is very easy to type fast and so you dont really need a full sized keyboard anyway. many of the smartphones has failed when it comes to sending/receiving simple text messages as it often switching from the chat mode on its own and often delaying sending the text message until a wifi signal is available instead of just sending it right away through the phone network instead. this is just frustrating and it seems to do this especially if its an urgent text that has to be delivered as fast as possible. I'm just fed up with it. had to look for an app to replace the original message app with an app that does not support this chat mode crap until i finally found one but now this app kinda acts up too lol. Im done with smartphones now as they break too easily too.

Not really a fair comparison. The Doro 7010 is over 3 times the price of the Alcatel 1068 and is not a purest dumb phone. A much more valid comparison is with the Doro 1380 (£35), which I have owned, followed by the Alcatel 1068 a year after. My Doro 1380 was faulty (the headphone socket didn't work) and a replacement was the same, so I got a shop refund. Whilst the 1068 is quite a tough phone and is easier to use, the screen is too small to read comfortably. It's also very tricky to insert and remove a SIM card, as the slots are very tight. But signal quality is surprisingly good. Unlike many dumb phones, there is sadly no built-in FM radio. The 1068's video camera will not work unless you insert a Micro-SD card, but it's not bad.

I think the point was to compare two phones at different price points to see if the extra money was worth it.

Dumb phone is an up grade smart phone is a down grade

Not sure 0.08 of a megapixel was correct

Nope, I would reckon VGA quality at the least. And I've seen alcatels they are basically trash so it's likely VGA.

2g network is dead, thought this was a clip from several years ago.

Not dead yet, but soon might be. I would not buy a 2G phone today.

In America I can get androids galore for cheaper than a "feature phone".

The irony being the show has now gone woke and dumb simultaneously. What a mess.
