CHEAP versus EXPENSIVE Lawn Leveling Tools
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Having a nice, uniform lawn makes the exterior of your home look so much nicer. There are MANY different lawn leveling tools on the market that will help with making a uniform lawn, but which lawn leveling tool is best? I purchased three lawn leveling tools, ranging from the cheapest to one of the more expensive models to see if the price difference effects your ability to level your lawn.
This video is not a "how-to" on leveling a lawn, that video will come at a later date. This video is all about the top 3 lawn leveling rakes on Amazon and how they stack up against each other.
Here are a couple good videos on building your own lawn leveling tool.

Thanks for the info Chuck. I’ve got this project coming up here in about a month. I appreciate all you do! Thanks for living your faith out loud. Ryan Knorr is my guy as a fellow Iowan. He has a lot of great info especially when it comes to lawn leveling and reel mowing.

Ron Henry has a lot of great lawn leveling videos, and he does a variety of materials to see the difference based off top soil vs sand vs etc. Great video and keep up the good work and thanks for the info. Never heard of the Rocklin Industry before so thanks for reviewing that. Would be a good one to consider because I have to level just over a half acre this fall.

The cheaper ones aren't all that bad. The build quality is superior on the Rocklin, but the the other two work really well.
fly hawk was darn impressive for the price, would like to see them make a wider rake with perhaps a beefier connection point at the head with bigger bolts and some locknut washers. great vid dude
@DaddingAllDay

They do make a larger one, but the price reflects it. LOL! Thank you bud!
That big Rocklin would be best for filling wide depressions,, which makes it my favorite.. Conor Ward & the lawn tool guys had good videos & Allyn Hane & Ryan Knorr too. But my favorites are by Turf Mechanic, Brian goes into just enough detail & explains all the issues involved with leveling, and why incremental corrections might be your best approach. I appreciate your prayers 🙏 and also pray for your family and you. Thanks Chuck!

One of the main factors on lawn leveling tool is the weight. So obviously the bigger head means heavier weight. Should be comparing tools with similar head dimensions.

That is a really good one!
Leveling a bumpy lawn the easy way by Silver Cymbal is probably my favorite because he’s right to the point and he lives in the same region as I do so I feel like I could get similar results. My lawn has some wider low spots, did you feel like the smaller heads had a harder time leveling across the wider area? I feel like wider would be better especially in my situation where leveling has never been done but I’m about a year into really putting some focus into the lawn.
@DaddingAllDay
2 жыл бұрын
Silver Cymbal has some great content. The smaller ones will struggle with the wider areas.
I do enjoy any of the lawn leveling videos that Connor Ward does. He takes lawn leveling to another level. As far as the tools you reviewed, I'd consider bolting three of the Flyhawk heads together to create a 51" version for the price of the 30" Rocklin. Plus you have two extra handles. Thanks for the information, Chuck!
@DaddingAllDay

Do you re-watch Connor's videos? No... just me... LOL. Flyhawk makes a larger leveling plate, but it's more expensive, though not as much as the Rocklin. The Flyhawk was also significantly heavier than the Rocklin, so I wonder if it would be too heavy and tear up the lawn? I do like your line of thinking though! Thanks for watching!

No. That will smother the grass. In that situation you will need to do it little by little. Fill the depression an inch, let the bermuda adapt. Then repeat.

Either your handles too short or you're pushing it with the handle up too high, I found out a 7-ft handle works fine, and position the handle at lower position like knee height and that should work much better.
