    Oh that's a good idea using the rain guard foam in the vent. My car has two on each side and sometimes I will hear the flap.

    Love the simplicity of this system together with the sound treatment done, am sure it will be great for what it is an much better than most oem systems. I'd just add a separate Amp for the sub for abit more bass...

    I like it...because I can only afford CHEAP. but watching this series, I imagine it won`t be cheap at all, at all that man hours to do the solid work you do ! no detail has been spared ! maybe the cheapest option but non the less a professional install ! :) that car doubled it`s weight ! :)

    Haha yeah, the car was very light originally. You can certainly feel it, but it’s way more quiet and luxurious on the road now. I can hardly hear the engine or the exhaust anymore.

    Hey Peter, nice work as always. Two questions. Did you just drill into the bare metall for fixing your ground plate? And what's about the blue tape at 2:45? Thank you.

  • @pssound9749

    @pssound9749

    2 жыл бұрын

    Holes were drilled to fit riveted nuts as per factory standards, so machined bolts could be used to fix the base plate down. The blue tape was used to leave trace marks on it from the bolts fitted in place, so the holes through the base plate could be drilled exact.

    looking at the parameters for the 13w3, modelling it in winisd and other calculators, i'm seeing an f3 around 38hz for a box of what i'm assuming to be 2 cu ft (56 liters). isn't there a better suited driver for the application that can play lower in the given box/space ? or shoul i just wait some more to see how it plays out with tuning and room (vehicle) gain

  • @pssound9749

    @pssound9749

    2 жыл бұрын

    F3 of 38Hz is very low for a sealed box. It doesn’t mean it won’t play lower than than! To the time you add cabin gain, it plays way way lower like any other sub in a trunk.

    Nice job Peter and Peter!!! I have a question that I can't get a straight answer to. If you're doing an aperiodic enclosure does it matter if the vent faces the the door or in the cabin?

  • @pssound9749

    @pssound9749

    It must not face the cabin, otherwise you’d make it ported.

    @@pssound9749 to be honest the sub enclosure is just a link in the chain the design and placement of both sub box driver location and port location can affect the end freqancy responce at the head rest position. Every car, sub and enclosure design is different so i dont think theres right or wrong answer and the design of the enclosure be it transmition line, ported , sealed, or apriotic chamberd will depend on the driver and the cabin it is going in.

    Hi Peter, Edi, I see you have chosen to use the Zapco ADSP-Z8 IV-8 for this build. I am looking for a new amp for my car & was considering the Helix V eight DSP MK2 until I watched this video. Having done a little research I see that on paper the Zapco appears to be the better amp with a higher s/n ratio, much lower thd & wider frequency response it's also slightly better value as it comes with the remote controller/display. What other benefits is there with the Zapco over the Helix & what made you choose the Zapco?

  • @pssound9749

    @pssound9749

    2 жыл бұрын

    It also has built in BT, but the real difference is that it’s bridgeable, so it can run a single VC sub. Downside is that it doesn’t have a pair of RCAs output like Helix has, so the system has to be planned with that in mind.

  • @JC200sx

    @@pssound9749 right ok so if I just wanted to run 3 way active with 1 single vc sub the zapco is best but if I wanted to run 3 way active with rear fill & a sub then the helix v eight with something like a helix p one for the sub would be better?
