Cheap Solution for Real Spring Reverb: Using a Reverberation Amplifier (Pioneer 202W)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Stop kidding yourself with that digital reverb. Get a reverb amplifier meant for playing records and get a cheap solution to a real analog reverb sound. It ain't HiFi but hey what can ya do?

I have one of these. I bought it in 1970 right after I came back from Vietnam. I still have the original instructions for it too. It always made my system sound really great.

I love using this thing on my record player. Sounds great with a lot of 60s records.

I wish I saw your reverb videos before I bought this half working Echocord machine for the reverb haha. The echo part works but I really wanted it for the reverb and yet I know jack shit about tube electronics; I should have just stuck to Rhodes' lmao

It can be frustrating at times I know. Tubes are a crap shoot if you don't have a tester or spares handy because no one wants to shell out a lot of money for new tubes when that might not even be the issue. Remember to always try the "chopstick" method.
Thanks for the video. Is it possible to run vocals through this to an audio interface like a Scarlett 6i6 into Ableton?

I don't have much experience with DAWs or interfaces as I work without a computer. However if your Scarlett has outputs you can run the vocal through on of the outputs, into the reverb unit, then back into an input. It's certainly possible but not "ideal" or as efficient as having a mixing desk. Usually with a mixing desk you have "effect in/out" (sometimes labeled differently) dedicated for this purpose.

@@lillin1029 yes, I have it running as a send/receive with a DJ mixer, same could be done on an fx channel with interface/daw
with what to comper, where is whitout fx?
Hi. It only has line inputs. How do you do to connect the guitar? Can you connect a guitar directly? Thank you.

I usually use it as an effect send from my mixing board so line inputs is all I need. I wouldn't recommend using this as an electric guitar effect on an amp, you will be disappointed in the result.

Im curious why people were adding reverb to finished masters🤣. Any thoughts?

Yeah it can be a bit of a gimmick honestly. I rarely ever ever use it when I am listening to my records. Maybe it would make sense in a room that's acoustically 'dead'. But my living room as plenty of natural reverberation.
