This song is (to me) about battling feelings of inferiority and envy in regards to people who are in the same line of work / doing the same things that you are.
More specifically, worrying too much about where you started or came from.
The original video is from the perspective of the vocal synth Teto Kasane, sizing herself up against (one can only assume) Hatsune Miku.
Teto was created by Utau (A FREE vocal synth program) users as a joke off-brand vocaloid.
Hence "Cheap Properties" and everything in the song. Teto has recently been made into a voicebank for Synthesizer V commercially.
The take away is, regardless of where you started from or the competition you face, you can still find value and success in your work.
