I had my old X-T2 converted by KolariVision and bought the IR chrome filter with it. I have done some research and granted no resaults on finding a replacement for IR Chrome filter. Even the great motherland China couldn't help. There's a similar filter listed but the sample images are vastly different from Kolari Vision's filter.

That’s good to know because I was looking at those cheap Chinese variants on Aliexpress. Looks like I’ll just have to take the plunge.

white balance the Blue sky facing south 90 degrees off from the sun at mid-day, then use a green-heavy picture profile (on NX mini, it's "forest"). no kolari needed (i actually bought it before i decided to just play around with settings)...

Nice results! When I first got my full spectrum Sony a6000, I picked up Kolari Vision's 550nm and IR Chrome. Between the two, I think I've used the 550nm more often. In my experience, the IR Chrome doesn't really emulate the look of Aerochrome faithfully as much as get the colors vaguely in the ballpark, leaning more towards oranges than pinks. In fairness, I don't think there's any way a filter could achieve the look on its own, it would require a change to the way the camera processes the image to get it accurate straight out of camera. While I find there are better ways to emulate Aerochrome's colors with yellow/orange filters and significant post-processing, the IR Chrome does have the advantage of being fairly easy to use and seemingly balancing the visible and IR wavelengths more, though it's hard for me to know exactly how it's doing that since the transmission data isn't publicly available to my knowledge. I think portrait photographers might especially see the IR Chrome filter as attractive, because it gives you that "IR look" while rendering mostly realistic looking skin tones, albeit with a slight reddish tinge. The usual longpass filters, like the 550nm, tend to result in more alien looking colors and smooth porcelain skin. Anyway, wonderful video; hit the nail on the head about me finding this after having seen all the other videos, haha. The Aerochrome Cult hungers for more. Looking forward to see what you do next with this kit!

I’m faking it in-camera, since I don’t have it converted to full spectrum. it’s just a custom picture profile I made in canon’s software (im a canon guy, yes) that I loaded onto the camera and it’s pretty nice in terms of red trees, but I still have yet to nail the blue skies. It is a matter of basically just picking colours and shifting them a lot (which probably won’t be the most authentic) but it looks good with the “shade” white balance. “Cloudy” gives more of an autumnal look somehow, with patches of yellow in the trees even though I was only aiming for reds, the rest kind of looks dull and almost colourblind if you choose a bluer white balance

Beautiful photos, how did you get the beautiful pink foliage and turquoise skies without photoshop? Did you do hue adjustment, channel swap? I have most nm ir filters for my full spectrum Sony. Even when I Custom WB with grey card they still don’t have the pink foliage. I a;so have the kolari chrome filter I can either get orange or red foliage but I want the pink. Please help thank you 😊
