    Same trick works to push off stuck rotors. Run the bolt through the brake bracket with a nut on the other side and push I right off. I keep extra hardware of different sizes for this exact reason. A few nuts and bolts take up less space than a hammer and do less damage to parts you plan on using again

    If you pull or push on that outer flange at all you need a new unit bearing assembly. If it’s already worn out and being replaced that’s great but this could cause it to separate and leave the other half stuck to the knuckle anyway. Instead, loosen the bearing bolts a little at a time and use them to push it out from the back side with a punch or air hammer.

  • @3Wheels1Block

    @3Wheels1Block

    3 ай бұрын

    Thank you for your feedback, this was a bearing that had 300,000+ miles on it and was most definitely worn out. I'm not sure how loosening the bolts a little at a time will work for pushing against the hub, as the bolt thread to the knuckle and you will still have to use an air hammer or some sort of level to move along the fixed plane tangential to the moving hub assembly.

    How do I do this on a 2017 Toyota carolla? Used a hammer to push a stud out but the head of the stud doesn’t have space to come out has a little room to were I can get a cutting disk in there and cut it and push it out little by little do yall think that would work?

  • @3Wheels1Block

    @3Wheels1Block

    4 ай бұрын

    If you are replacing the bearing assembly I would cut the stud, since the new assembly comes with new studs. Be sure to use a piece of flat stock steel or tube when you use the screw lever so you don't damage the aluminum control arm.

  • @3Wheels1Block

    @3Wheels1Block

    This is used when removing a damaged wheel bearing assembly. So I was not concerned about damaging the bearing. The hub is ductile iron and sees way more destructive force than a single bolt can present. Thanks for watching 👍🏾
