Cheap 🔨 DIY 🔨 Ladder Tree Stands... (2x4's)

Ойын-сауық

Here we built some 16' ladder tree stands out of 2x4's. It's a Easy and fairly Cheap way to make 4 to 6 tree stands for the cost of just 1 of the normal metal ladder stands! The Wood we used was (5) 2x4x16 and (2) 2x3x8.. You could use all 2x4's (6)(2x4x16) but we didn't want our shooting rail any wider than necessary so we went with 2x3's instead of the extra 2x4. Ether way cost is about the same at $35-40 per stand.

    Be glad you built this when you did, wood prices in 2023, buying a traditional ladder stand is about the equivalent price.

    Yea for sure!.. especially back over pandemic, wood was insane! Prices are back down alot, probably could be done for around $65-75 but I guess that could vary greatly depending on area.

    I would caulk junction of steps w rail. And use a heavy duty truckers ratchet strap to attach to tree. Tough to get in that stand w a backpack on

  • @cumminsperformancs

    @cumminsperformancs

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yea caulk or liquid nails would probably be a good idea! Bigger strap would be needed if not using the braces like we did that are fastened to the tree.. Yea, its a little tight getting under rail with a backpack.. We considered making rail hinged, but like how sturdy it is like this. Most times we just pop backpack off at top of steps and sit it on floor beside seat. Works Well, & we Definitely like the setup!

    I tie 2 ropes with caribeners to the top. I clip my backpack to one and gun or bow to other. Makes climbing any stand alot easier and safer.

    You can make it whatever you want or works best for your setup.. Ours is around 32 inches for the long floor rails that attach to tree.. the floor itself is around 27" by 27" all depends how wide you make your ladder.

    It has light paint over everything so if anything it would be a paint smell for a week or two.. We put them up in middle of summer, (like you should with any stand) so it had plenty of time to settle in before hunting season in the fall..
