Cheap Chinese Excavator 1 Year Review

Today I have to do some landscaping around the shop so I thought I'd take some time to show this AGT H12 excavator in operation and give some of my thoughts about it. Thanks for watching!

If you move the "thumb" out of the way, the bucket can curl more and you won't drop so much gravel and double the amount you move.

I have one too, with a Briggs&Stratton petrol engine. You need to lower the RPM's for jobs like this. Half-throttle gives more than enough oilpressure but then it jolts considerably less. I think they're great machines to have around the house. Compared to rental costs, break-even is around 50 hours orso. After that it's a free lifetime toy :)

@@chariddawn6663 I'm from the Netherlands. Bought one locally some years ago when the these cheap excavators weren't nearly as popular as now. Some guy here shipped a few containers full of excavators over from China and had troubles selling them. I think I paid about €6500 for it including 3 buckets, and a thumb. I really love it!

Couple of things: get on top of the pile, much easier to get a bucketful; put the wide bucket on, you'd've filled the trailer in about 3 scoops; move the thumb ram to the top hole in the dipper, get it out of the way; the blade is at the front of the machine, not the back. That's why there's 2 big arrows on the undercarraige. Also, slew to the side like someone else said. HTH!

I was thinking same thing. With that small bucket, it almost seems like you could do it just as fast by hand with a shovel. So how big of a bucket could be put on this machine? Would the machine be able to handle a bucket that is twice that size with the added weight? Thanks.

Mike, swivel the body through 180 degrees and the dozer blade will be at the front, in fact it's meant to be used that way round so that the track motors trail and are less vulnerable to damage. Of course when you are grading right up to a building the arm will be in the way but most times you can just raise it because there's nothing in front of you.

Had to cut the floor to widen the opening and get to the bolt. Other than that it’s been working well for me, I use it mostly for pulling out tree stumps, and yes, it’s too light for that but there are ways around.
