Cheap Binoculars!.....Are they any good?

I bought a very cheap pair of Binoculars purley on the good spec sheet. Can these cheap binoculars live up to the specs and actually be any good?.... Lets find out.

Hi Jason, a fun review as always. Sorry to hear about the thumb, you're a trooper doing a review when you were probably in pain. I was a bit nervous for you, binoculars in this price range literally have about 50/50 chance of arriving out of alignment due to the the prism housings not being securely caged. I've learnt the hard way more than once, so glad to see all is well there. An exit pupil of 4.1 means the prisms are around 20% undersized giving an effective aperture of 41mm so that's about right for the money, you tend to get the full aperture and securely caged prisms at around the £100 mark. Still it is remarkable that you get two little low power telescopes for 27 quid, that's 13.50 each lol With regards to your video focus breathing, try setting the camera to manual focus, and focus at the distance of the product you're showing. I learnt to do this after about 50 odd videos and never looked back. Keep up the good work :)

Hi Chris, Thanks buddy. Do you know, I thought there was somthing regarding aperture and exit pupil I just couldn't remember it lol, but , yes , I was lucky buying them Cheap, online and to arrive undamaged and turn out to be excellent bino's for the price. The image is bright sharp and clear, amazed really, because I did take a chance. Hopefully I've sorted the focus issue out on my videos,It''s me that is the problem, for some reason I ALWAYS! Forget to switch manual mode on (What a plonker). Thumbs very sore but wont stop me lol. Thanke again Chris for your valuable advice.

I bought a inexpensive pair of binos recently. took them back because they were crap even based on the price. A 50mm, porro prism, fully coated, 9-27× magnification. The issue was that when at lowest power they were fine but as soon as you adjust the mag wheel it becomes out of focus to the point where the focus wheel didn't have enough movement to compensate for it.. Good construction other than the adjustment control. I wanted a set smaller than my celestron 70mm pair. 😃Cheers from cloudy Newfoundland

Those kinds of binoculars are usually made from China/Taiwan (I think). I know that because I have the same exact binoculars, carry bag, neck strap, cloth wiper, and rubber lens covers just without the UK Hobby Store logo and box packaging. Though to be honest they do feel solid and made with quality.

Multi coated only means that more than one lens surface has a coating. What you are looking for is Fully Multi Coated. There’s a vast difference

Hi. Do these perform better than the 1970/80's - 8*30 vintage Japanese ones you find in flee markets?

Hello there. I have not actually tried the Celestrons you mentioned but what I can say is 7x50 is the perfect size for binocular Astro anything bigger you are going to need a tripod to keep the image steady.

@@smalloptics753 Hi jason Between these 7x50 binos and a 70mm f10 scope which one is more preferable for beginners.
