本当になんでなんだろうね(笑)なんかチープな感じに見えるのに…

輪ゴムでかろうじて蓋が乗ってる他の大盛り弁当と違い蓋がちゃんと閉まる容器なのが素晴らしい。

Agree so much. I hate the ugly look so much when they try to cram every single things (especially the karaage) into the container with rice and then you have this huge open gap that can't be closed. Pain in the ass to carry around

I love Japanese food and their bento is out of this world. Delicious, healthy, big portion and available everywhere. Everytime I visit Japan, I went for the bento. Hotomoto is my favourite.

They all love to eat fried tempura and sweets since the beginning of time, but it doesn't make them bloated or fat because why? They practice balanced diet. Take the greens, take the carb, take the oily fried stuff, and they would still maintain their health. It's not like there's no fat Japanese dudes. Everything is in accordance with your choice, including the foods you eat. Don't have to eat big sized bento like this if you don't want to, if i'm a student then hell yeah i'm buying this.

おにぎり大きい～！昔の漫画で、サッカーボールの大きなおにぎり(海苔をボール模様のように貼り付けた)が出て来て、あんなの食べてみたいなぁと思ってたら、近い物がここにあった。

どれも半端ないボリューム。 ２・７㌔のおにぎり🍙には、誰買うねんと、突っ込んでしまいました。 (￣▽￣;)

My god the Japanese really love their rice, I mean like really love it. When I make rice I usually do 100g dry rice per person, this looks like it 3 or 4 times the amount, it's a wonder they aren't all massive.

LOVE IT!

Let´s say $8 dlls for that amount of food. Thats the lunch and the diner for me.

Is bento to be eaten hot or cold because it takes awhile for them to get everything ready so I imagine it's about room temperature by the time you eat it.

弁当の作り方が後半になるにつれてどんどん狂っていく・・・

揚げもの時、少しの気遣いで油ぽさが軽減する事が出来ます、網でも箸でも良いですが、2、3回油をきると全然違いますよ。

When I lived in Tokyo in 2000 everyone was incredibly very thin. People cooked from scratch at home or bought small portions at convenience stores or corner restaurants. I'm sad to see Japanese are getting fatter, processed foods are common, and portions are big. Japanese home meals were about soup and a few sides plus modest portion of rice. Never like these giant servings shown.

There's this huge westernization of Japanese and Korean street food/restaurant fare. Lots of cheese, sugar, fried items, large portions of meat, etc. that can be seen through a lot of these youtube channels that feature them. It's no surprise that what you described has been happening.
