Che Guevara interview. Ireland 1964
Ойын-сауық
Argentine born Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara on a short visit to Dublin.
Argentine born Major Ernesto Che Guevara, and ‘Comandante’ of the Cuban Revolution, was interviewed by RTÉ at Dublin Airport when as Cuban Minister for Industries he was travelling on a diplomatic mission.
On his way from New York to Algeria after a meeting of the UN General Assembly, Che Guevara’s flight was redirected from Shannon to Dublin due to fog. While weather bound in Dublin he spoke to RTÉ reporter Seán Egan.
Aer Lingus air hostess Felima Archer acted as interpreter while Che Guevara answered questions about the political situation in Cuba and recent threats on his life.
An RTÉ News report broadcast on 18 December 1964. The reporter is Seán Egan.

He was incredibly well versed in the English language even though he said he didn't speak a word. In Cuba he fought to get the mob$ters off the peoples back. Maybe ignore his looks and look into the history. If not for Castro and Che there would be two Haitis in the Caribbean. One is already too many.

I believe the interview was undertaken during a brief stopover for Che at Shannon airport, while he waited for a connecting flight. It seems RTE had little time to do much more than send a local reporter and cameraman. I think the interpreter here is just an air stewardess who happened to speak a lttle Spanish.
I read somewhere, he was inspired by the men and women of 1916

What's so good about it?? Cuba is a failed state, communism is a failed system and Che Guevara was a loser. Nobody needs people like him or the ideas that douche helped spread, to the detriment of many South American countries. People that worship Che Guevara and other communist figures are a bunch of morons without a sense of reality. Communism was good for them, not for the rest of the people. Stupid regime. Stupid people.

Most of those people were toadies, stooges, and accomplices of the old regime. It was a wartime situation, and we were meddling and actively trying to kill him and Castro. The vast majority of the folks you're speaking of deserved what they received. Cuba's own history may have been quite different if Che had lived, and in a positive way. He was a brilliant man. Even if you hate him for being a communist, you must respect him for what he was able to do. Especially against the overwhelming power of the US at that time. Just like America losing JFK was a disaster, Cuba suffered thru losing Che. That why he's still revered across the globe half a century later...
He was betrayed just like Julius Caesar. He was a revolutionary, doctor, socialist, author, rebel, hero, villain - and according to Jean Paul Satre the most complete human being of his age. He hated injustice, if you want to understand his mind set just watch The Grapes of Wrath
