I love him! We brought a farm cat into our house when she was (we think) attacked by our neighbour’s dog and she had 6 week old kittens. She lost an eye and had her broken jaw wired, plus we spayed her at the same time. She took some time to adjust to house life, and recover from her injuries, finish raising her babies and adopt them out. But she turned into THE most amazing cat. Such a cuddle bug. Constantly talking with us. She is the best. It’s been about 9 years now and I wouldn’t trade her for anything. She does occasionally chew on my plants though. 😉

Scooter is absolutely gorgeous and he just has the sweetest and trusting demeanor for everything he's been through. He looks so happy and at home already! Congrats on your new addition to your family 🤗

Twelve years ago my daughter adoped a orange and white kitten. She named her Lily. Lily had been born with twisted back legs. She could walk/run, but couldn't jump up on things. We had neen volunteering at a cat rescue at the time. Durging her eleven years of life, she had stomatosis (she drooled and had to have most of her teeth removed), neurological issues and she had several strokes. Every stroke the vets said she wouldn't recover, but Lily proved them wrong. She also had some issues using the litterbox and had to use pee pads. Side note, when Azure's partner first met Lily, he treated her just like any other cat. Anyway Azure hoped that she would reach the age of ten. Unfortunately in her eleventh year Lily had a stroke that she did not survive. My daughter loves the special needs animals. She became a vet assistant, almost four years ago. She currently has another young special needs cat, but that's another story. At one time we were owned by a blind tortie cat (probably where Azure developed her great love of special needs cats. Annie was truly wonderful) I am very proud of my daughter for adopting Lily and so lovingly caring for her. We really miss our Lily.

Scooter is cute, I trained a kitten to leave plants alone. It's a good thing to teach cats things.

I guess I’ve been lucky; as none of my three cats have the remotest interest in any of my plants. Good luck with your newest member! ❤

You are such a good soul! Thank you for opening your home to a special needs kitty! Hard to keep kittens out of plants. Mine used to climb the big plants, sleep on some they could get onto, like a bed. The plants didn't hurt the cats, but the cats hurt the plants badly. (When I pot up cuttings I water them immediately. I think of the roots of cuttings like they're eyeballs, that don't want to dry out. Weird, but this thought always pops into my mind when I am potting up cuttings. ) Love the syngoniums with the red back.

Scooter is ADORABLE!!🥰 Omg I can't take how cute his scoot is hehehe!!! At one time I had 4 cats. I was a veterinary technician for 10+ yrs before I got sick with Fibro & became disabled. I rescued all 4, a definite hazard of the job.😏 One was a flame point Himalayan, then a gray Persian and then there were the twins. Black w/white domestic long hairs who my one tech friend rescued from the barn her horse boarded in because they were "attacking the ankles of the horses".😳 That should've been my red flag lol. We called them the velociraptors. They tagged teamed everyone & everything.😂 Those 2lb babies ended up 17.5lb behemoths that sounded like elephants coming down the stairs if they heard the catnip bag open.🤭 I miss all my boys very much.💔

That's what gabapentin is for. My black cat has to be medicated in order for me to clip her claws without her trying to take my hand off! Unfortunately gaba has zero affect on my two year old cat, but he just squims getting his nails done. Rumer doesn't try to unalive me like Gypsy does! Everything will be fine. When and if they start washing eachother you will know that a bond has been completely formed between cats.

Welcome Scooter! He's so gorgeous Drea, thank you for adopting him, it can be daunting for some people to have a special needs pet. I'm sure he'll be charging up and down those stairs soon enough. Ahhhh, the honeymoon period is so nice while it lasts lol. Go the spray bottle! Also, tape, sticky side up. They usually don't like it. A mat or similar with double sided tape around the border.

One of my cats loves water, so a spray bottle is useless, lol

I suggested the squirt bottle to you a few months ago for Theo. That was good that you yelled to Scooter and scared him. Combine the squirt with a burst of NO! Or STOP! You have to scare him.

I found Peru and cobra are better rooted in a prop box with high humidity and warmth. It still takes time but it makes the process faster

Loved the story of Scooter. He’s absolutely gorgeous! I’m a cat lover myself. We only have one cat at this stage,would like to add another cat but I have a feeling our cat won’t accept it into our home. Great video Drea 🐈💚💚🪴🌿

I love my Cartis (also from a swap), too! I finally started seeing them at Ace Hardware randomly last week for about $25 for a 3-4" pot, but one of the fastest growing ones I have. I wish i could afford the sheets! I've been looking at them for years but when you convert the currency to Canadian dollars they're really pricey, not just moderately priced. I know they would last me forever but I'm on disability so possibly like 30% of a months check on sheets is sadly not possible 😭

A friend has an orange and white tripaw cat named Scooter that she is keeping for her son while he is going through a college program! I can’t imagine having three! My two girls generate enough mess and trouble! 😸 My black cat is especially a problem child! 🐈‍⬛

Congratulations on your new baby! He's so fluffy! I miss having long-haired cats. I've got two short haired felines at the moment, but I have a 4 month old Golden Retriever, so maybe its better that I don't have any kitty fluff balls, as my house is one giant tumble-weed as it is. You probably already know this, but Wild Fern mentioned you in her video yesterday; she said you saved her life!
