Yes, huge weddings cost a fortune and start a life of debt. I gave my daughters money and said "you can use this as a deposit on a house, or you can waste in on one day and a dress you'll never wear again!" They both had small intimate weddings and bought a home! Good choices!!

your comments about being an introvert resonated so much with me. Lots of my friends that i had since i was little i am so extroverted with! But groups overwhelm me and i feel like i cant contribute to conversation as well. then i feel so deflated about myself not being able to engage lots. But you talking about it made me feel so understood, thank you so much Soph!

My honeymoon was not relaxing - we went to the Highlands, did quad biking, canyoning, white water rafting, climbed Ben nevis... Was absolutely amazing 😊 I think your honeymoon should be what you enjoy so if you enjoy a nice Chilled out relaxing holiday then it'll be a wonderful honeymoon 😊

I rarely comment on KZread but it was SO so encouraging to hear you talk about being an introvert, not necessarily enjoying brand events, etc, because it's so easy for the rest of us to assume beauty influencers live in a perfect amazing golden bubble, and it's just SO encouraging to understand that it's actually just normal life and normal people experiencing things! I really needed to hear that to not feel bad about my own life, so thank you!

Glad to see I’m not the only one who made a resolution to say “No” to things I just don’t want to do. I made that last year and now I’m so much more comfortable not feeling obligated to be at things I don’t enjoy doing, and giving myself back some time to do what I enjoy doing. 🤗🤗🤗

Me and my husband did donuts and cupcakes from out favourite bakery instead of a wedding cake! Much cheaper and the quests loved it, because we had all different flavours and everyone could just pick their favourite.

You deciding not to go to events when you don’t want to is great! A few years back I decided to just do things that I wanted to do. Stop doing things just because “ everyone else “ is doing it, and not coming with excuses, just saying that I don’t want to. Let me tell you how liberating it is! Best decision ever! Congrats on the brand trip - well deserved❣️ 💕

We went to Vegas, Mexico and New York for our honeymoon. It was a surprise from my husband! We’d booked some time off after the wedding with the idea of getting a last minute deal but unbeknownst to me it was all booked. I liked the combination of touristy in Vegas and New York with a lovely relaxing 10 days in Mexico in between. It was amazing start to our marriage. Enjoy the planning and the lead up to your wedding and the honeymoon. It really is exciting! It’s our 10 year anniversary this year and I still regularly look through all our wedding photos and we talk about it. It is only one day but it also kind of isn’t. It’s a celebration of your relationship’s past, present and future together.

At my wedding I had a small top cake to cut then had tiers of the cupcakes, a friend of my mums made it and everyone loved it! All the cupcakes was gone so fast! I was asked numerous times if there was more! I manged to do mine on as much of budget as possible , never done everything I wanted but I married the love of my life! And that is all that mattered.❤

We did the same for our wedding. Managed to get a really good deal. People apparently didn’t want to get married in 2013 as they thought it would be bad luck. So we got a really good package deal on a country home with loads of stuff included for £2013. We booked it at the end of Feb 2013 and got married on 23/06/13. Getting married on a Sunday also made stuff cheaper like you said. And as for the “bad luck” because of the year.. we’ve been married 11 years this year and are happier than ever! Can’t wait to see more wedding stuff from you ❤ xx

I'm glad the wedding process is going smooth for you. I agree you are there to be married to the love of your life nothing else matters. My husband and I planned our wedding beginning to end in 6 months. The whole thing venues, dress, food, cake, flowers, tuxes and whatever else was all under 10,000 I think it was all $8500. We had the best time! Then I booked us a week in Niagara Falls New York/Canada. It was so fun. Congratulations on everything and I'm glad to hear your father is doing well. 💜

I chose my dress online, went to the one store that stocked it, tried it on and bought it 😂 I tried on others at wedding fairs etc but I knew what I wanted! We didn't spend much on our wedding at all, like less than 10k and our families say it was the best wedding they've ever been to! Big party vibes haha Glad to hear your Dad is okay. Sending so much love. We went to Cape Verde for our honeymoon and the entire place has a motto of "no stress" and honestly it was bliss. Not too expensive but it was an incredible trip! Those Sephora mini perfumes!!!! I remember going to France with my mom when I was around 9 (I am American but older than you so we still didn’t have Sephora yet) and would ask her to go to Sephora every day to just look and smell all those perfumes. My favourite was always the honey one in like the yellow-ish packaging. I think about it all the time as one of my earliest beauty memories….

My best friend has been going to Anguilla for the last few years and absolutely loves it. Very low key and beautiful breath-taking beaches. They fly into St. Martin which is super lux and fancy, so they get the best of both worlds. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

I'm so glad your dad is doing well! Mine has terminal cancer. This is his last year/few months left. I've been wanting to start a small channel as a hobby, but I'm so in my head about it. I'm also introverted but extroverted with friends! I've always loved your energy.

We went on a Kenyan safari for our honeymoon which was 7 full on but amazing days, then spent 4 days down in Mombasa at the end for a chill out/romantic bit. Best of both worlds.

we did a TUI cruise around greece, italy and croatia for our honeymoon in 2023 for 10 days, it was AMAZING. the ship has so many amazing restaurants, bars, entertainment, broadway shows, silent discos (so fun), pools, jacuzzis, spa etc. plus we got off to explore a new place every day and many days we had booked excersions. each day can be as relaxed/chilled or as exciting as you want. also our weddings sound soo similar i got married near london on a weekday (Thursday) with a package deal with basically everything included, saved so much money, and it was the best day ever! I also got an off the peg dress from wed2be and got it taken in to fit and it turned out perfectly. congrats and i love your vids have been watching for years. xoxo

Loved this. Well I love all of your content but it's always lovely to hear how you are doing. Oh I can TOTALLY understand the anxiety with events/people. I spent years of my life going to things and just hating how I felt the entire time. Now I just do me. I do have people telling me I need to get out and be more social and that its not good for me spending my time at home away from people. But I came to the conclusion that if it makes me happy staying home with my 3 horses and dog and goat then that's what I'll do. Anxiety sucks haha. You do you Soph! Much love from New Zealand. If you haven’t already looked into it I would recommend an on-the day wedding coordinator, your venue might have one included already. We had one and it took away so much mental load from the day!

We got married on a Monday and everyone loved it! Our venue was super excited because that's usually a slow day for them and our family liked it because then they were able to travel and have a nice long weekend.

When it comes to challenging ourselves and going out of our shell or comfort zone, I think it's finding a balance of how much we do it. Thats what I learned at least. If we do too much, we definitely overexert and overstimulate ourselves. So we definitely need breaks or chances to reenergize our social batteries before diving in again. 😊

Omg I can't believe you found your dress after only 2 shops. It took me months to find something I felt beautiful, happy and comfortable in 😅 I have never counted but I must've gone to 10+ shops in the end.
