Just wanna clarify that ChatGPT didn't "break" besides just giving bad answers. The "broken" responses are a result of the script coder not writing it properly or because of the library they are using to fetch responses from ChatGPT. The responses never include the letters for it, etc. unless someone asks it blatantly. This script is novice af and still surprisingly made this much money, which is kinda sad.

Literally watched 2 ChatGPT bots at the GE yesterday "roleplaying" one of them being scammed by the other, followed them and begged to return the gold, then not 15 seconds later were responding to each other in a broken loop about some random topic, and 1 player tried to help one of them. SUPER weird to sit there and witness, sad people are falling for this.
Mellow was such a saint, it feels bad that there are other players who are kind who are having their kindness taken advantage of. I have found lots of really helpful players throughout RS as I was levelling up, I try to look out for ways to help players. Giving money or high-value items seems to be too exploitable, so I have given a guy grinding the Cooking skill some of the raw lobbies I had been fishing.
Met MellowDilly at GE, he was flabbergasted when I told him he was in your video! wholesome dude!

@1whoDoesSimply I don't really think it's an issue tbh. The community is generous af and how many players will miss a rune set? Everyone I know that plays rs has at least a 25m bank. A lot of pkers or DMers have like 800m+ or even 1b+. My bank is 750m. The economy is inflated as fuck. You have hundreds of twitch streamers trying to get followers by giving away gp. And people want more players on this game so if buying a noob a rune set encourages them to get to end game content and keep playing then that's a win. And that generous player will just go do 1 tob run or 1 toa and make back 10x the rune set he gave away.
Shout out to Mellow. That ending was so wholesome. I love this community
If anyone wants to know how to easily detect these bots remember this, Chat gpt was trained on a data set that ended in 2021. Currently chat GPT-3/4 have no information on the last two years of updates and content. One easy way to know if its a bot is to ask its opinion on things like toa, dt2, nightmare muspa, or any other content that has been released in the last two years. Good luck players!

@@JavierPwns The DAN "exploit" doesn't allow them to access recent data, it only tricks the bot into thinking they can. So it makes stuff up (it is pretty good at making reasonable guesses). That being said, gpt3/4 is not just Chatgpt and you can setup your own gpt3 bot with more recent data, so asking about recent things might not always work.
here's a cool idea - since the bot started saying a letter count effectively outing it as AI, I'm sure all of the chatgpt bots in osrs have this prompt will have it due to the limited amount you can type. So finding out a way to make the bots reveal this could be a failsafe way of detecting them and a fun vid to show for it

Won't work. The prompt the bot user used, was garbage. They can get extremely precise and very complex to make the responses very difficult to see as AI. MellowDilly is a real one ♥
I asked chatGPT what Jagex could do to make botting harder: "Dealing with bots in online games is a persistent challenge, but here are some clever ideas that Jagex, the developers of Old School RuneScape (OSRS), could consider to combat botting: 1. Improved Bot Detection Systems: Jagex could invest in enhancing their bot detection systems by using advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques. This would help them identify patterns and behaviors characteristic of bot accounts more effectively. 2. Captcha and Puzzle Challenges: Implementing more sophisticated and dynamic captcha or puzzle challenges during gameplay could disrupt botting activities. By requiring players to solve puzzles or complete interactive tasks, bots would have a harder time bypassing these measures. 3. Randomized Events and Gameplay: Introducing randomized events or gameplay elements that require human-like responses could trip up bots. For example, triggering unexpected in-game events that necessitate immediate decisions or reactions would be challenging for automated scripts to handle. 4. Social Engineering and Infiltration: Jagex could employ individuals or teams to gather intelligence on botting operations by infiltrating bot communities. This approach would provide insights into the techniques used by botters, enabling Jagex to develop more effective countermeasures. 5. Player Reporting and Reward System: Encouraging players to actively report suspected bot accounts by providing incentives, such as in-game rewards or benefits, would help Jagex identify and target bots more efficiently. This crowdsourced approach would leverage the community's assistance in tackling the botting issue. 6. Dynamic Anti-Bot Measures: Implementing dynamic anti-bot measures that evolve over time could make it harder for bot developers to adapt their scripts. By frequently updating detection methods and anti-bot mechanisms, Jagex could stay one step ahead of bot creators. 7. Behavioral Analysis: Jagex could analyze player behavior data to identify suspicious patterns associated with botting. By examining factors like mouse movements, clicks, and gameplay patterns, they could create algorithms that flag accounts displaying bot-like behavior for further investigation. 8. Hardware and Software Fingerprinting: Implementing hardware and software fingerprinting techniques could help Jagex detect virtual machine instances or commonly used botting software. By tracking unique identifiers associated with known botters, they could proactively identify and ban such accounts. 9. Regular Account Verification: Introducing periodic verification processes that require players to confirm their humanity through various means, such as email verification or SMS authentication, could deter botting. This additional layer of security would make it more difficult for bots to persistently operate. 10. Collaborative Efforts: Jagex could collaborate with other game developers, security experts, and organizations combating botting in the gaming industry. Sharing knowledge, resources, and best practices would enable them to develop more effective and comprehensive solutions to combat botting collectively. It's important to note that while these ideas could be effective in combating botting, determined botters may still find workarounds. Therefore, it is crucial for Jagex to continually update and adapt their anti-botting measures to stay ahead of the game."

Very wholesome towards the end of the video. I do love the Runescape community. I still keep in contact with a guy I met on osrs, he was noob and I got him going. He lives half way across the world. We keep InTouch through video calls etc.
I'm not proud of this - but would be very interested to see the result: I used to go to the Ge and target rich high level players while I would be wearing mid level slayer gear by trying to sell them a t bow for 50k (cup of tea and long bow). I had really good sales pitchy lines and would bbe humorous about it. I used to say I was saving up for better slayer gear (whip, fury, bring - etc) and it worked so much better than I could have imagined, with the right lines and pitch. Many times, maybe 30 percent of the time, they would trade me a whip, whip and fury, or even more (one player gave me 25m worth of gear upgrades once). I would, on average, make about 3 - 5m per hour doing this. I would love to see this weaponized with chatGPT.

I love that ending, so awesome. I've met so many good people on this game.
I occasionally help f2p noobs. Personally I've never begged, but the community is wild. In my year spent grinding at the GE to get f2p 99s in cooking/fm simultaneously, I had a lot of folks just sit and chat and then give me money, or people will randomly hop worlds and ask "who is not a bot" and either just drop a mil in a trade or one of the funniest one was a guy ran up and asked who was real, I responded and he said "they're fucking following me man, take this!" And gave me 2 mil and insta hopped. I was stunned. He came back 10 mins later and we had a good chuckle about it. He refused to take the money back too.
that was actually a class video, well done pugger, i was laughing so hard
It's nice to know so many people are out there willing to just help a noob, really unfortunate it's basically just begging bots though.
The best story i have about osrs community being absolute chads, im an f2p locked guy. While on a 7k str ammy crafting spree i made friends with a noob. We chatted for a few hours qnd he really wanted to get into skilling for profit. I tried to flip him 100k for starter cash and he refused, finally settling on taking 25k. About 15 mins later he had me come to edgy bank, and a maxed account was there, asked me what my bank was worth. I sensed a scam or something so I lowballed it at 5m. Dude traded me instantly and doubled it. Turns out the noob i had given cash to was his younger brother and he wanted to thank me for being a chad by doubling my bank. I was shocked. 5m for an f2p locked account is massive.
This makes me want to beg at the GE on my maxed account with TBOW & masori asking for help with rebuild lol. I have almost everything I could want/need I’m just curious what the reception would be.
