About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

Watching Tony cobble together the repair for the door was fascinating. Kudos to Tracy's sister for facing her fears and painting the rails and window surrounds on the tower. The results are fantastic.
Even the peacocks admire your work. Great job everyone. Coming along. ♥

Good golly I love Tracy & Tony! The camaraderie and banter between the parents is just so endearing - I can see why Terry & Ash wanted to have them so close by

Totally agree!! The patience and determination especially for the minute details is amazing. 🤗
The basement door looks fantastic, the Chateau’s new face is starting to look fantastic.
Wow! What a fabulous door! It looks brand new....so happy you saved it!
What a difference to the tower, it is a tremendous improvement, well done everyone. I wondered why Billy Petherick has been so earnest to install security at the convent and the chateau. It is unfortunate to learn of the burglaries. Hopefully your new system will deter any thieves and make life easier for you all. 🍀

I agree, but I think two cameras are needed, one aimed at traffic going one way and one going the other.
GREAT job on the cellar door! So well matched in with the new piece of wood and the metal braces countersunk to make them disappear. Very well worth saving with the beautiful cut out detail as well. Getting white paint onto the exterior features like the railings, doors and windows, really makes them "pop", and that brings the whole structure to life. Bravo! 🥰
That door looks so much better and all the painting on the iron in the front looks wonderful! Good luck with the road! The road will really transform the Chateau👍👍. Tracy should get a name plate in her honor😃💗
I'm with Tracy and Ash..no way could I even think about scaffolding! That door is gorgeous 😍 Great week family!❤

I didn’t even know the cellar door had carving in it! It’s gorgeous! Nice job on the front of the tower!
As KZread subscribers, we like to see content on the episode video... Wow, we certainly received a lot on this one. Loved the end with Tracy and Tony shutting the gate. Thank You.

The door came out looking beautiful and the tower windows too. The Eufy security camera system looks like a super easy set up with premium results, hope it doesn't ever need to be tested but should work out great. Thank you all for your showing us the fabulous work you have done and are doing to bring this Chateau back to life.
I love how your two feathered friends had to check out the newly painted door!! Looks nice!
Beautiful. I love that you restore what's original to the chateau. The peacock's seen to give their seal of approval.
The basement door is gorgeous!!!! Good job! The peacocks approve too! Good for your sister climbing up high....I sure couldn't do that! Another good video folks!!!
Looks like the peacocks were the door inspectors or maybe looking for their entry! It’s looking just gorgeous from the front. By Christmas totally in the cottage kitchen and all and the front of the chateau gorgeous for Santa😂🥰🤣
I so look forward to each vlog and the time goes to fast for each one. The Chateau looks amazing now. You must all be so proud of what you have achieved.
I am currently on my first visit to France, with my husband. We are staying in Marchainville and ventured out today to mont saint michel we drove through La Lacelle and I said to my husband wouldn’t it be good if we saw the chateau and right then there it was, I couldn’t believe it I got so excited haha.
I love the door - it’s charming, especially with the peacocks in front🦚🦚
Bringing that lady back to life one job at a time. Well done everyone!
You've done a beautiful job on the door saving it from being thrown away and better to mend and make use of the door that belongs there well done you two , just like you're son saving the windows I know there is some stuff in a tube like silicone you mix it they use it to patch rotten wood you can plain it drill it and paint it . Each time there's some more done you've suffered cold and then heat and still carried on it's hard work I did houses up that had no water or bathroom roofs fallen in , but enjoyed it at the time knowing in my mind the finished house was 16 then done them into the 90s we did everything made the windows they had to be the same what was there so learned carpentry then electrics when finished they were passed by someone in the trade . The houses are worth a lot more now than when we gutted and redone them but I look back and remember how fun it was , wished I'd thought of a Chateau my friend bought one over 30 year's ago she did have one in Bulgaria but the government was bad then she had her furniture shipped over . They wouldn't let her have it unless she paid money to them she ended up escaping in the middle of the night because they said they'd arrest her if she didn't give them the money they wanted , she still owns it but wouldn't go back there to frightened think last I heard she's back at her place in France she's independent bit strange but not in a horrible way . She may have sold her place her son and daughter haven't heard from her in ages think she got wise to them asking her for money well wish mild weather for the winter ❤️
Love the basement door. Tony is a genius! Sure would like to see the upstairs of the cottage. Tracey, you work so hard, you are amazing!

I have been watching a several months now, from the USA, and all of you just amaze me. The talent you all have in tackling each new challenge is so fun to see. I have come to the conclusion no job too big, too hard, too complicated will stop any of you. Crack on then and I can't wait to see more of your fabulous restoration of this chateau! Be safe!
Tony- "She doesn't like heights, but I think this will cure her" ha ha .
Am really looking forward to the latest program with all the exciting updates! All the work on that exterior door has been done so lovingly. It looks fabulous. Sorry I missed the live chat this morning, but I slept right through. Such are the time differences between France and Australia! Best to you all, David
Looks wonderful!! OH my!! How beautiful the front of the castle is looking now!!! Love the peacocks just admiring the work!! ❤❤
Fantastic episode!! Love all of the improvements.. the cams... the ironwork and door all getting sorted! Fantastic job to you all!! 🤩 I sure hope you follow through with naming the road after Tracy!!! You all are fantastic at all the hard graft you're all putting in.. but Tracy deserves this one!!! 😁 Can't wait to see that back breaking job done.. and see how beautiful it's going to look! You all are such a wonderful team .. doing a wonderful thing here with this chateau! 🤗😊
Boy what a job putting up scaffolding. Isn't it satisfying what a lick of paint can accomplish, not forgetting all the repairs.
Watching fro Houston Texas on my Lunch Break.
I admire the courage and industriousness of you all with the scaffolding, but please take extra care. Coming from a Grandma here. I wish for you all to have a cherry-picker some day.
Beautiful door! The peacocks seemed particularly pleased with it!
My jaw dropped when I saw the door been carried.......absolutely stunning!!!! The tower looks so clean and crisp! Wow
What an amazing transformation!! Much love from Western Australia
Gorgeous work you all! Nice install of the cameras Ash. Can't wait to see what is next!
Never noticed the door before. Beautiful job and lovely pierced work on the doors. You should incorporate that design in a stencil somewhere inside.
The door looks amazing, Tracy and Tony. The peacocks love it as well. A security system is a great idea, we don't think it's needed out in the country, but I think maybe everyone thinks like that even the bad guys,so I am happy you have it. Love from N.Y.

Fabulous restoration of the door. Loved how the peacocks were 'discussing' the cat flap/ hole. Well done Aunty for scaling the tower.
What you did to your cellar door was just magical you really did save a beauty
Wow, another stunning result of all of your hard work. Love love love the cutout detail on the cellar door; French decorative artistry at its best.
Wow....what a beautiful transformation of the front of the building.....the windows, bars and door look fabulous against the nice white railing. You have certainly come a long way. What a team!! Well done! The peacocks....just make it perfect!
Watching from San Diego Ca USA
What a sweet ending with Tracy n Tony closing the gate...the door is absolutely perfect really adding magic to the front of the chateau, job well done...!
Are you road weary, Tracy? Don't blame you. Great drone camera work, guys! She's cleaning up nicely. May the restoration Gods keeping shining down on you.
I see sweaters/jumpers. Looking forward to seeing your fireplace Tracy.
I just can't believe how good the door looks Tracy has done a cracking job of it. I would have put that on a bonfire I thought it was past repairing. Well done ✔

Wonderful filming in this vlog, love those close up shots. How divine is the stone work around the servants door, beautiful detail. Ash, what have you done to your thumb...hope it gets better soon. Tony you deserve a medal for your door restoration. The fretwork decoration on the door is beautiful and Tracy a dab hand at the sanding. The trees in front of the chateau are looking great, a good pollard worked wonders. Another job well done and passed the peacock test.

I love that door! And how sweet to put a Peacock door in it☺️
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ job mum,. Love all your hard work. I love the security. Stay safe everyone
Wow. That door is gorgeous. Love watching the love u give to the château. Hugs from Eugene Oregon
Great video … love the door and Paula’s grill work… things are really coming along…how many times can people ask the same cat door hole question before you say ENOUGH ALREADY?! I know I’m just a real smart aleck asking for a punch in the nose … loving your family and watching your great progress from PA, USA.
What a nice door , glad u got cameras
Painting the inside of the cutouts in the door might save it from further decay from the weather. The door looks amazing. Will you be sandblasting the canopy above the doors and power coating them? You all have done so much in a years time. And you won’t have to sleep in the caravan this winter 🥶 yay 😃
Are you planning on power washing the stone? Has a lot of lichen on it. Would make it look so grand! Are you putting glass behind the cut outs at the top of the servant door? Doesn’t bring in a lot of cold air? Are you going to repaint the metal flag poles going up the tower too?
