This half hour with Iona and Phil Scott feels like a Master Class on the swing, the mental approach, and "grinding" on enjoying golf and not the score. Great video, lovely course. Also, what a putting clinic from our protagonist! Thanks Iona and Phil. I'll be returning to this one again and again.

Iona - this is the content that brings me to why I love golf. I'm 50 now, been playing since I was 14. Some periods of time very seriously and some periods of time (the birth of my daughter, University etc..) not so much or not at all. I am back playing often again and now with my 11 year old daughter in tow. She's a wee one in stature and really isnt generating speed yet so this "let the club work with gravity" is such a perfect direction for her (and me as I age just a tad.... and with some wrist pain thrown in for good measure). Thank you for keeping golf "light" and for having chaps like P Scott on to keep swing references from Hogan and Jones alive. I sure cant get into positions of the modern swing anymore so using gravity will help me stay on track. Brilliant work. Cheers from Calgary Canada.

Iona in 2000 I was 18 and fell climbing just before a major international sporting event for me. Broke my back, shattered my wrist and took 9 months to come back to walking. The surgeon told me I’d never play again or really do anything that needed a wrist. I worked hard and was lucky enough to get a couple of seasons back before the injury really caught up with me. As time has gone I’m just so so grateful I can play a little bit, play golf, play with the kids etc. You will always have the nagging “what if” but you’ve made the most of it, continue to enjoy the sport and wow you contribute to it and the growth of golf in the most amazing way. Shit happens but be proud of what you’ve done in spite of it.

I don't know if all Scottish people talk like this, but her professional commentary coupled with the lilting accent is just so pleasant to listen to. What other golf YT channel has such great audio? And she did it all without her morning coffee! Does she just come up with commentary like this off the top of her head? "On the green, you can see the dew on the grass. It's so early in the morning. It's barely 7am here, and it's just so fresh. The air, there's been rain overnight, so it's that crystal clear kinda mountain air. There's wispy striations of clouds in the sky but not much. Oh, it's so gorgeous to be out. If I wasn't getting up to come and play golf this morning, you can bet your bottom dollar I would have been just having a bit of a lie in. I've been working all week, so a bit tired, but golf has come to save the day, cause this is the most beautiful part of the day, it'd be a shame to waste it."

Tour average for 6 iron for ladies is 2 down per trackman vs 4 down with men. So you’re bang on tour average. While you have an excellent short compact ‘modern’ swing can see what Phil says it letting a slower more languid, longer swing evolve over time and how this will be kinder to your wrist. Light grip, swinging in slow motion and just watching Bobby Jones swing will all help with this
