Chasing the CSX Hunts Point Market Train with an Ex-Conrail Caboose

The CSX Hunts Point Market train, symboled Y220, is a local based out of Oak Point Yard that is solely tasked with servicing the Hunts Point Cooperative Market in The Bronx. Getting to the market requires the train to traverse a short section of the NEC, before reversing along Edgewater Road for about half a mile. This section of track is very unique, as it cuts through numerous industries and splits the sidewalk in two. Y220 usually has to wait a few minutes for industries to clear debris off the tracks before it passes through. Because of the lengthy segment of track that the train has to reverse on, Y220 usually brings a battered old ex-Conrail caboose to be used as a shoving platform.
On the sunny afternoon of January 16th, 2020, I journeyed to Hunts Point in hopes of catching Y220 on its daily run. Y220 would show up just before 3:00 PM, consisting of the ex-Conrail caboose, four refrigerated boxcars, and CSX GP38-2 #2724. The train would end up holding at Sal's Scrap Metal for around ten minutes for debris to be cleared, allowing me to chase it to four different locations. Since Y220 usually takes 3-4 hours to work at the market, I headed home once the train entered the facility. Thanks for watching!
