On Monday 15th April 2024 steam locomotive C35 3526 hauled the Steamfest Flyer from Maitland towards Sydney after participating in this years Hunter Valley Steamfest. In this video we chase the Steamfest Flyer as it heads from Maitland towards Sydney, then onto the NSW Rail Museum at Thirlmere.
We start the video at Waratah where we see Beyer-Garratt 6029 lead the empty transfer of rollingstock to Thirlmere with diesel locomotives 4501, 4201 & 4916 coming along for the ride. We then head to Beresfield where we catch 3526; beginning our chase south. We see it again at Awaba, Ourimbah (just) and passing through Cowan. After dropping off passengers in Sydney at Concorde West we then chase the empty transfer back to the NSW Rail Museum at Thrilmere, where we see it at Menangle and then near the museum along the S-curves in Thirlmere.
