I saw where a guy puts a mirror under the tanto on the table. That way he can watch where that stone is.
As always looking great Brother ! Fantastic tip on the zip tie ! I have a medford preatorian genesis t , s90v with a tanto , been hesitant to sharpen , still sharp just not stupid sharp , lil mirror nothing crazy , YET . Haha

Thanks brother and go for it man! Nothing like a nice sharp edge!! It’s like having a whole new knife! Also you can always send it to me if you aren’t comfortable doing it yet but the only way to get better is with practice. Sometimes you just gotta go for it! 👊🏼

Question: the button lock Feldspar is sharp, but has those "mill marks" still and I've a cheap Harbor Freight 200/300/400/600 diamond stone I HAVE bought/used to re profile my 10" Dexter kitchen knife...$7 eBay find in rough shape/no apex...single side grind...I've got Japanese water 💧 stones from idk 800/1000/3000/8000 and I'm generally very good up until that white finest stone and the compound arrived w Beavercraft strop ( poor instructions...use WD-40 so it will absorb vs cake up it's seemingly dulled after "stropping alone" and I'm now thinking about polishing the blade itself to a mirror as I've scratched the tip which I believe is satin or stonewashed...I'm facing an issue w 14C28N Steinbrucke and the cheesy O'Reilly torx set T6 lasted ONLY 3 screws I lost a nylon washer but...believe it can be repaired w polished copper or bronze washers...could u rebuild as well as "sharpen" both knives what is the turn around 4 this...I think the Benchmark washer on eBay 9mm would replace the Steinbrucke ones but I can't get it to "center" also if the diameter of these washers is off it wouldn't be hard to " bore them " if the OD is too large chuck it into some cordless drill remove material using idk #320/800/1000 MY issues here lack of tools/machine shop and not knowing or have any Steinbrucke videos to better tools. ..

Weird question. Are your pcs on your KME homemade/3D printed or did you buy them from somewhere?
Really considering purchasing this setup..what would you do with 500$? As far as sharpening systems go? Please let me know as I would greatly appreciate it since I love hand sharpening but want something more consistent and as a army vet, this whole procedure looks like a therapeutic option for me as sharpening my blades always has been and will remain a PTSD therapy session for me atleast

$500 id get a kme and some venev scorpion stones. Its user friendly, versatile and its consistent. Plus there’s a ton of resources out there for using the KME. That’s probably the best route unless you are ok with spending double that and getting a system that’s more complicated
