Salam sister. Alhamdulillah you have chosen the right path. Take your time to learn the religion and do not rush to be a perfect muslim so fast. Learn the religion and understand the Quran first by reading and understand the message in it. Do not worry about what other people think about you because at the end of the day, it is you alone who will stand before Allah SWT to answer for your deeds, be it good or bad. We are humans and we make mistakes/sins all the time but we can always ask Allah SWT for forgiveness and Insya Allah, Allah is most forgiving. Be steadfast in your beliefs and make doa for your parents and siblings to see the right path as you did. Being a muslims means you have to respect and take care of your parents well.

Alhamdulillah. Unfortunately in Malaysia, converting to Islam is like converting to Malay and the authorities make it so difficult to revert to Islam. That’s the biggest deterrent for Chinese Malaysians from becoming Muslim. Instead many became Christian. There is so much prejudice. I hope this sister experience will show that Islam is not about race and many more of Chinese and Indian Malaysian open up towards Islam and we as a nation go beyond this racial divide
