DK not only stole a married woman's heart, but her husband's as well😂😂 Ps: DK started as a kpop singer. He debuted with seventeen and that is his main job. But he also loves musicals so he started to try for this musical and was given the lead role. So yeah it is impressive how he can blend with these other experienced musical actors without seeming out of place

Actually, DK got this musical opportunity from an audition after debuting with SEVENTEEN. He went to audition by himself without his agency knowing 😄 From what i remembered, he auditioned for Merlin character. But the producer assigning him for the main role, Arthur instead.

And guess who's the actor for Merlin?? Son Junho, the *_same man_* who's wife had dedicatedly gushed over DK in immortal song's medley IN FRONT OF her husband and they had a running joke of Junho being jealous....😂😂 Dk getting all the married women _AND_ their men...

Its crazy because dk was juggling all his schedules during that time like he was singing nonstop from doing album promotions, rehearsals, live performances from this musical (not sure if they were preparing for concerts back then) but his schedule was so hectic and its also crazy to think his voice still sounds stable and healthy despite the little inconsistencies that you mentioned. Im just so amazed to how dk improved his vocals from the time he debuted up to now

Fun fact! A 16y/o DK(Seokmin) went to audition for Plds by singing a famous Korean musical number, "Jigeum I Sungan" . He later *SECRETLY* join a musical audition for a small role but he get a main role instead which lead him to debuted as a musical actor in 2019 through Xcalibur which happens to be a premiere in korea for the musical itself. He received a lot of love from musical fans and even gain new fans for his group (svt). He then get cast again in 2021 for Xcalibur and many reviews said that he became way better than before because the improvement are crazy. He sounds a lot better and his emotions, acting are very good according to the attendees. If you compare his singing style for some Xcalibur numbers in 2019 & 2021, you'll notice that he finally find his own sound.

Did you guys know that DK had to have surgery done on his right ear. since then, he was left partially deaf in that ear and isn’t able to hear perfectly well, which gave him a lot of stress and worry that he was holding the group back while he was recovering. But look at him now, he has the most angelic voice i’ve ever heard in my entire life. I’m sooo proud of our sunshine 🥺

it’s crazy how DK can manage to have a lead role in a musical while also being active in the idol industry. especially given that seventeen is a very famous and busy group, from doing a world tour, preparing comebacks, practicing all the choreos, shooting variety shows, sponsorships, etc

DK!!!!!! He is a great actor and storyteller; it comes out naturally to him. His versatility is on another level!

Fisrt of evrthing, Dokyeom is a member of seventeen but he has a heart for the musical, thats why he tried to explore and do the musical.

I got such whiplash watching Excalibur for the first time with DK because most of the songs are in his lower register and I'm so used to hearing his higher registers from Seventeen. It's so impressive to see both sides of his spectrum so clearly

dk debuted on 2015 as one of seventeen's main vocalist and debuted as a musical actor on 2019 having the main role in xcalibur! not everyone is aware of dokyeom's musical gigs and i thank you for doing this! lets wish for more musical play of dk in the future. you are my favorite dk fans here on youtube

dk being the lead role not only once but twice for one of the most successful theatre in sk is just amazing. He also sold out completely all of his shows in less than 30 minutes (cmiiw)

Xcalibur 2019 was DK's first role in a musical. EVER, as far as I know. He reprised the role in 2021. I was blessed to see him TWICE in each year. SO FREAKING GOOD!

He's the greatest vocalist. I'm beyond proud of him.

Another fun fact: The Die Schatten Werden Laenger, which he get featured in KAI's album, it was a one-take recording and he sounds so beautiful! I'm proud of him because Dokyeom was that good. note: Kai is a famous and respected musical actor in Korea.

I'm kinda imagining how would Dokyeom react to these beautiful compliments. He's very shy at receiving compliments from his members. Most of the time, he's too hard on himself that whenever he makes a very slight mistake onstage (pretty unnoticeable), he gets upset, blames himself and sometimes he even cries because of it. Whenever I see him like that, I just realized how he loved performing the best and as perfect as he could. I just love DK, he's super talented, very humble and hard working. 💙❤️

Man I truly wish one day DK could watch and understand fully this video. It's not often people expound on his skills this much, he really deserves this praise.

Seeing DK in full character and giving his all bring tears to a carat's eyes. especially when you know how insecure and hard he was with himself in his early years . . . when Seventeen attended this musical i remember how Jeonghan specifically mentioned he couldn't help but cry watching DK perform at stage and seeing how far he has come.

Yes! People actually know him as a Seventeen member first, and he started that way too. DK only started to get into musical theatre a few years after Seventeen’s debut, so you could say that his main job is Seventeen, and for now musical theatre is only a side act for him. He’s still focusing on the group at the moment. And prior to being a trainee, he was actually just a normal kid who decided to try and audition at Pledis (Seventeen’s company) after taking a couple vocal lessons for fun.

What wins me every single time that DK sings is the passion that he gives, the joy that I can feel from him. It is so inspiring to me to see how music is everything to him and how it is as natural for him as breathing. My love for DK's talent and being is endless.

DK is such a versatile singer! When I first heard him sing, what really comes to my mind is that he is the best singer in Korea, nobody sounds like DK, he can sing in any genre. So proud of him😍👏💕

DK debuted in SEVENTEEN as a main vocal (singer) in 2015. He auditioned for Xcalibur (in 2018?) without the knowledge of his company, afaik he sang the KR version of This Is The Moment (Jekyll and Hyde). He had his musical debut as the lead role of Xcalibur in 2019. He rehearsed for the musical at the same time SEVENTEEN was preparing for their 3rd full album, KR concerts and their world tour. He was performing for the musical in the morning and practicing dances and recording songs in the evening. He's so talented and hard-working! i really love this kind of reaction video because it is educational too and critiques are actually given and not just empty praises for the fans. I hope there can be more dk and seventeen sponsored vids soon >.

He auditioned for the musical, and though he had the fame and the title of being the main vocalist of Seventeen, he still gave several auditions and was selected as the main lead in the musical because he deserved it, and he is the youngest of the entire cast, and that in itself was a great thing.

Its on his left ear, u can see during high notes on stage he always needs to remove his left in-ear

I swear I'm not crying over these amount of praises DK is receiving from this channel he rightfully deserves. I am beyond proud! ♥

I became very interested with Excalibur Musical because of DK. I even looked for the script book online to understand how the story goes. My personal favorites are Murmur of the Heart, Rich at Heart, In Troubled times like this and Go it Alone. Majority of the song numbers were uploaded here at KZread btw but of course, not everything was sung by him. TMI According to some carats who went to his musical, they really felt DK's intense gaze as he speak his lines and he would make an eye contact with the audience (Angry Cuckoo mode on😂).

To think that this was his first ever musical, he did really really great. Everyone's proud he got the lead role too. It was his dream since younger. He sang "This is the Moment" for his audition to become an idol so after they debuted as Seventeen, he also trained for musicals on the side while doing all idol activities. And when the opportunity came, everyone was so happy and supportive of him - the company, the members, and the fans. I watched him in Xcalibur three times and flew all the way to Korea to watch him. I don't even fly to Korea for a Seventeen concert. Just a very proud moment for the fandom.

DK auditioned to that musical. He got the role through his hard work though it was something new to him.

I'm so proud of DK.. he auditioned for musicals and got the lead role in Excalibur without the company knowing. but before that I'm sure that he already loved musicals before entering SEVENTEEN because when he auditioned to pledis he sang the song "this is the moment by jekyll and hyde". He is very talented, as you said that he can sing with all genres, he can get into character and deepen it... i always amazed by him and he always gives me goosebumps with his voice.

He is the best at everything! Music is himself and Music loves him the way he loves it.

Really apprecaited for reacting to Xcalibur, and I have watched Xcalibur live twice, and DK's voice is no joke, he sing with his soul :(

@@nadia1941 I dont think it is possible to watch online, as I watched twice both in Korea and it was even hard to get the ticket. But the clip we saw on this video, it was a documentary from EMK that broadcasted in October available online for one day only :(

I’m so proud of DK musical performance this was his first debut as a King Arthur in musical theatre and he nailed all the scenes acting singing emotional he put in is such amazing if you watch he show in person

DK’s voice is the main reason I dive into Seventeen thanks to Rebecca and Chase Melia for this vid and only channel that I trust bcz you discuss both positive and constructive critic it’s such an entertainment and learning at the same time

A little fact, dokyeom got into musical through an auditions. He really want to get out from his comfort zone.

I'm not a fan of most of seventeen's songs, but when I listened to the "darling" song...as soon as he sang, I was like 😮. His voice is so beautiful. I love musical theater so I enjoyed seeing this.

For little information about Dk i wanna say that, He is Born in 18 Feb,1997 and joined Seventeen in 2012 And Debuted with Seventeen in 2015 And Started Musical in 2019 when he first casted as Arthur in the Xcalibour. Since then he is part of the musical. I hope you react to more of seventeen live vocals and Dk's personality videos too because he is the most innocent, naive and nicest being in the whole world. 😊😊And really like your videos ☺️☺️

Do you know that it is his second time to be King Arthur and dk is the kind of person that did'nt know how to be angry thats how the member describe him and dk said that being a king arthur is so challenging to him because of that. thats why I always love dk king arthur because of that his theater acting is so amazing.

Oh man, I'm so glad you got into his musical stuff. You really have come to understand why so many people admire him. Dk has always had an extremely powerful voice. There are interviews with Seventeen's vocal coach (and now one of their producers) Bumzu where he mentions that DK came in with a natural ability and power. For his first run with Xcaliber he got to do a lot of vocal training specifically oriented around musical theater and formal techniques with senior musical theater actors and he improved even more and his voice got that much more versatile. He started in Seventeen and then went into Musical Theater. He actually just went and auditioned for Xcaliber because he wanted to, I think he told his members, but he really just wanted to try it, he had always wanted to be a singer and he found another context to do it in.

I’m addicting to your channel as I’m addicting to DK’s voice too and that all these clips were his first musical performance in 2019 and 2021 his vocal and performance improved a lot. Thank you so much for admiring DK’s vocals

Dk's vocals are effortlessly powerful

watching you react and break down seventeen (and dk) voice is honestly the best way of learning new things in singing

Its so beautiful how music unites us like we don't even need to know whats been sung but we all are already appreciating, thats how seventeen was introduced to me .. i remember listening to circles and even tho i didn't understand anything but i felt soothing and thats how i dug up seventeen's discography and fell in love with OT13..them whole together gives me courage to look forward to a shining future which makes me feel to not to give up . I remember the "big debut plan" where dk was so sad because his voice was not appreciated but he worked harder and learn to take care of his voice and see now who is not appreciating him after listening to his amazing voice ..totally hooked!!

ahhh im so glad you guys reacted to Xcalibur! he was also recast as king arthur in 2021 and made so many improvements. i highly recommend listening to those clips (some arent exactly official but its worth it). also this is dks first foray into musical theater and he auditioned for the role without his company's knowledge. i think he took this opportunity to prove to himself how far hes come and has gained so much confidence in turn. dk pre xcalibur is significantly more cautious and unsure of himself compared to dk now. thats why this show is so meaningful to carats and why other members of svt cried while watching it. thanks for continuing to see the beauty in dks voice~

IIRC DK also went through classical training when preparing for the musical. If you compare his seventeen performances pre-musical (2019) and after, there's a noticeable difference in the way he sings (in a good way!)
