-No people injured and no collateral damage
-This police car drive way faster that I have ever seen an American policecar drive, especially the cornering.
-Police just don't have Volvos, they have motorcycles and helicopters too and several units at the call of a radio.
-The sooner you stop the less problem. Escalation seems to be exponential, similar to the five stars in GTA...
-There is a high risk that at least in Sweden and most European countries a prison sentece is mandatory if you
engage in a prolonged pursuit.
-Risk also increases that you can create an accident because of the stress. It's almost like on the racetrack
where it is always easier to follow than to lead. Relative speed is the key here.
-And as stated in the introduction, that BMW M5 (F10) driver had a bad day, this seeemed not to be the
ordinary Volvo policecar. On the other hand it was positive for the M5 driver that he was not taken off
road by the police car, so no damages or injuries.

There's a difference between cornering at high speeds with a car that's got stiff suspension, wide build, quality LSD system and quality tires, and a 535d. That's not even considering the coordination and smoothness needed for high speed cornering to safely corner at high speeds. There was a point where the officer went 240 around a corner with a freaking 535d. That's insane. It's easy to judge through a screen, isn't as easy as it looks.

"police are used to chasing people" - they really aren't, especially in Sweden. How many car chases (of this serious caliber) do you think Sweden has in a given year? No way the average Swedish cop has even been in a car chase at all. Ever. The police man here was clearly a skilled driver and that has little to do with his occupation. I'm sure they do a basic "how to drive fast safely" course but that doesn't turn you into a good driver. Only frequent practice can do that.

@James Stewart Problem is that he doesn't know that. How is he supposed to be sure he's out of view while going 200 km/h through corners? If he turns into some back road and the cop happened to catch a glimpse of it or even just saw a cloud of dust kicked up he could back himself into a corner, plus the smaller the road the more likely people will be there, so more risk of an accident. He never had a chance to escape the moment it turned out that the cop was a competent driver.

The driver is typical multi criminal guy. That should have crashed and burnt and saved the society some money! The police patrol stood at the roadside along the E16 and did a vehicle check when a BMW M5 passed at very high speed. Behind the wheel, it would turn out, sat a man in his 40s who had previously been convicted of illegal driving. He refused to stay. The BMW passes through Åshammar at speeds over 140 kilometers per hour, partly on the wrong side of the road. Photo: Police Instead, a life-threatening drive began with overtaking on the wrong side, and at high speed in the left lane over obscured crests. The journey ended along a gravel road, where the police with drawn weapons forced the five people into the car on the ground. It all happened on May 30th. June 3, the man was sitting behind the wheel of a car on Nygatan in Gävle when a police patrol spotted him. This time he did not try to drive away from them but allowed himself to be arrested on the spot. In mid-July, according to the indictment, the man came across a set of car keys stolen from a car rental company. He looks for one of the company's cars, an Alfa Romeo, and gets behind the wheel. He drives to Uppsala, where a police patrol takes up the hunt. This time, too, he ends up trying to drive away from the police. At one point, he drives at 150 kilometers per hour on a 40-sign street in central Uppsala, and passes a roundabout in the wrong direction After the arrest in Uppsala, the man is arrested and detained, but released after a week. He is now charged with several cases of gross illegal driving, theft, use of means of subsistence, receiving, drunk driving, gross negligence in traffic and a couple of cases of minor drug offenses. nyheteromodag.com/index.php/2020/08/25/se-gavlebons-flykt-fran-polisen-i-200-km-h/

Some you guys saying m5 driver is shit 🤦🏾‍♂️ any of you tryed managing a 560bhp rwd M5 down country lanes with popo on your ass?? 😅 F10s don't handle great fyi, roads coulda bin unknown to the driver who knows 🤷🏾‍♂️ F90 M5 is a different story, 2 corners & it would vanish 👻 535d has more usable, more manageable power, can exit corners on full throttle, where as M5 traction light would been flicking the whole time apart from straights. F10 M5 requires a more than average driver to pilot especially on roads like this, me personally I woulda banked on the home straights. Remember its always easier following than leading, I'm talking probly 50% easier! reason being the car in front has judged all your braking distances for you, braking distance is no problem in a 90bhp Corsa where you'll barely reach 90mph, but when your tryna judge your braking distance from 150mph 😅😅 different story yooo Conclusion - 95% of you woulda binned it 2 3 corners in 😂

The frames per second of this video is low, so it makes things like slow even if they are going extremely fast. This was actually also a problem in all Motorsports back in the day. Race cars used to look a lot slower than they actually were if you saw them in real life. So now with the widespread availability of cheap HD tv's that can handle high frames per second, Motorsport event now use faster cameras. Unfortunately in this video, the clip is from a dash cam, and dash cams are not on par with state of the art high frames HD cameras.
