About breakaway roping - there was a little rodeo in a nearby community, & they had breakaway roping. (This was a long time ago, when the only other time you could breakaway rope was if you were in a junior rodeo or high school rodeo.) So, this was a "first." I roped my steer in 3 seconds, in this local rodeo, and the whole crowd gave me a standing ovation. That was humbling, but their appreciation for a woman doing something at a professional level was not lost on me.
