I really like the M.B. Synge series for a history spine. The stories are so engaging and short, but they also have very elevated vocabulary.

I really appreciate your videos. I am grandma homeschooling my 9 year old granddaughter. Her parents are blind. She is going into fourth grade. I purchased AGF, but really like your info. This is the first year trying CM. I like how you combine it with classical ( which I do not know much about each of those). The dad adds to the lessons. I also help them with other things . I do not know much about science or history. Do you read everything before they do? I know she should be reading some things independently and just wondering how to know if narrations are correct when she does it independently. I am usually gone all day to their house. I am choosing not to be overwhelmed, but it seems to creeping in. Any tips? How long does it take you to get everything done in the day? Will you share a link for BOC, Story of the World, and M.B. Synge ?

Great questions! I would like to answer your questions in a video (anonymous of course), as answering here would be very long, and probably not detailed enough. But to start, I highly recommend the book called “The Well-Trained Mind, A Guide to Classical Education at Home” by Susan Wise Bauer. She gives detailed tips on how to teach each subject in with a classical approach. I think you could still use AGF and apply a few classical concepts! Don’t stress about it! Sometimes it’s the small things that can make a big difference! I will try to post this video soon!
