I have severe MRE (Medication Resistant Epilepsy), with it not being abnormal for me to have well over 100 seizures a week, and although neither Charlotte's Web nor Rick Simpson Oil help me at all, being heavily involved in the national epilepsy community and a part of the Epilepsy Foundation, I do know countless people that it has helped tremendously. The people weren’t opposed to the plant, they were told that they should be, for decades, and socially conditioned people to even see its use as something to be stigmatized over. Don’t think for a minute that their tactics have changed.

I think the Figi family and the Charlotte's Web people did a tremendous amount to help families with a similar predicament. From what I've seen, before we had CBD, these particular severe forms of epilepsy had a bunch of partially effective treatments with fairly brutal side effects. In the case of Charlotte, the seizures reduced massively when she started using the CBD, she only lived to 13 sadly, but it's likely a lot longer than she would have had she continued having many seizures every day like she was before CBD and it was a much fuller life being able to go a while without worrying about a seizure. It's one drug, it's not psychoactive, it's cheap and it appears to be massively more effective than the existing treatments. The fact that countries are keeping all cannabis products illegal including even the CBD-only products even in circumstances like this makes me a bit queasy because my view is that your actively harming a child by not even attempting the CBD treatment when we've seen it change lives in other cases.

Whilst I didn't need the 'Charlottes Web' story to discover the 'secrets' behind medicinal cannabis. It was a key talking point in a modern paradigm shift towards cannabis policy and public knowledge of the potential health benefits from hemp/cannabis. I take your point, that Americans aren't the be all and end all as they do seem to think at times. However your comment is not communicating your point well, just sounds obnoxious and is generalising. The reason Charlottes Web was important, is that many cultures have been demonising cannabis for a long time, people who otherwise may not have considered it, could now see a relatable example. It's s good thing that has doubtlessly helped the treatment if many others, not sure why anyone would need to react with toxicity to this story.

First I want to say I’m so sorry for your loss to Charlotte’s family. As a parent I can only begin to fathom the depths of your emotions you must be feeling. I can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am for your precious little lady and the impact she has had on my own life. I’ve had epilepsy for 24 years. I’ve gone through various medications and each time I had a seizure they would up my medication and if I forgot one of my pills in the day I had a seizure. I have tried various medications and they just recently prescribed me 250 mg of Lamictal an increase of 50mg a day after I totaled my jeep right before Christmas (thankfully no one was hurt and it was just me in my vehicle) When I had my appointment with my neurologist I explained to him that the 200 mg made me fall asleep sitting up and anytime I sat down to watch TV or play a cane with my kids I would fall asleep. I also explained to him that upping my dosage only made my body become used to the extra medication that if I missed a pill in a day I would have one of my gran mal seizures the next day. So every time they increased it rather than having one pill for getting that and having a seizure I would be taking four pills a day and then if I forgot even one of those I would have the seizure. He just wasn’t getting it and this was the third neurologist I had tried. This very severely impacted my life in a terrible way. A month ago I began taking CBD drops and my seizures have ended so far. I’ve had two doses that I missed and I did not have a seizure for the first time ever!!!Not one of the neurologist that I’ve seen wouldn’t even discuss CBD oil with me. So I really hope the research continues and minds stay open to what a miracle drug this can be.May your soul rest In peace and tranquility. Thank you again Charlotte and her family for all you’ve done and sacrificed from the Markov family.😇

@Nd Paris Me too. A simple tea made of ground up leaves at bed time did me more Good than any prescription med. And when I don't have access I slowly start going backwards again. That First show I saw of her with the Stanley's, and Dr Gupta inspired me to try it. That little girl and her parents changed the world and it is not going to stop. I lobby for complete decriminalisation . Legally I can't grow enough to supply my own needs and to buy it would cost close to a thousand a month. But, my arthritis has never been as bad as it was the day I started using that tea, and even if I don't have any for weeks my pain is still less and my joint mobility is still better. I used to wake up and cry the first time I loved my hands. Big pharma has no right to interfere and profit from this. Look what they did with opoids, which I took for ten years. Can't even take aspirin now.My best wishes and thank yous to the family of this wonderful child.

To all nonsmoker's watching this, the real why this girl is so important is because she lived in a place where she could not get marijuana legally, and her condition made it impossible to live. Her parents tried marijuana as medicine because they believed it had the ability to save her life, and it did. Unfortunately even with marijuana, she was still extremely comprised if her immune system was under attack, and like that just another loss of a great human life. Seriously, do we have to wait until 100,000 people die to coronavirus or can we at least start figuring out a plan?

I was 330 pounds around 15-16 years old been over weight all my life but when I started growing and using cannabis after learning about it's effects I in turn went from 330-252 pounds in 5 months it effected me extremely! @@davemiller6055 actually the whole argument about the dangers of smoking cannabis is not about imparing lung function in the majority it's about impairment in lung function of people who have lung issues. For example if you have lung cancer taking a small hit from a pipe is most likely not gonna help. But concentrates like live resin or hash rosin have extremely low plant material percentages. That basically includes all the byproducts that aren't the cannabinoids of the plant. Extracting those cannabinoids allows for an extremely low level of co2 to be released from combustion due to the plant material percentages being almost non existent! Also really interesting to note! A lot of ppl think concentratw gets you really high because it's a high extraction of the plants essentials but CBD concentrate or 50/50 blends etc can have very mellow highs to almost no effects with low low low lung irritation! Unless you take like a 900F dab then your crazy! Lol but I would love too see that study or any you know! Not saying your lying about what they said or anything! I'm just genuinely curious 😁 also I will agree edibles are the safest tho if your gonna so anything or THC-A pure.

Her life was short, but she inspired and likely saved so many through her story. Not only those with epilepsy, but many other conditions as well. People who may have taken opioids are using CBD instead. And not only humans, but animals too. She helped more people during her 13 years than most will in their lifetime. RIP.
