What’s the movie Charlie St. Cloud about?
Adored by his single mother (Kim Basinger from The Natural) and his little brother Sam (Charlie Tahan), Charlie St. Cloud (Zac Efron from Neighbors and High School Musical) is an accomplished sailor and college-bound senior with a bright future ahead of him. When Sam dies in a terrible accident, Charlie's dreams die with him. But, so strong is the brothers' bond that, in the hour before each sunset, Charlie and Sam meet to play catch. The return of a former classmate (Amanda Crew from Sex Drive) leads Charlie to a difficult choice: remain stuck in the past, or let love lead him to the future.

I think his brother’s ghost is like a symbol of grief. Tessa is like the light that is trying to get him out of that dark tunnel he’s in. I could be wrong but I think thats the message of the story.

@@Guywithacamera13the only reason the deal existed was because Sam and Charlie promised one another that they would meet each other at sunset in the same spot. Once that deal was broken, it can’t just be renegotiated just because of who Charlie broke the deal for. Sam’s existence is based on Charlie coming and the minute he stopped that deal was null and void. Sam crossed over right after because it was the deal that kept his spirit able to come back in the first place
