I absolutely love that he made this album! He honestly made an album by laughing at himself. It was very wholesome. People on Tik Tok encouraged him to continue his production ideas that anyone can do even at home. I love how personal it is and the production definitely doesn’t overshadow the haunting lyrics. He really went through a lot. I felt like his previous singles he released weren’t really him. Now that he’s clarified the label was pushing him to release the radio hits. I understand why it didn’t feel like Charlie Puth. This feels very much him and more evolved sonically. Artists should definitely have more power to create. Label heads can’t dictate what is good or isn’t good. The artist untimely knows their art. So proud of this incredible album. An amazing body of work ♥️

I’m a 66 year old soon to be a grandma and I just adore this young man. I’ve been a musician all my life and play multiple instruments. I chose to pursue a career in medicine instead of music. Charlie makes it look so easy and effortless when he’s writing and creating music. However, I know it’s anything but it takes years of practice, persistence and dedication to get where he is. He was truly blessed with an incredible gift and we are all so blessed that he’s shared his talent with the world. I can’t wait for his next album to be released. Keep doing what you’re doing Charlie the worlds got your back. 😘

can't believe I'm finally seeing him live next month after admiring him for years! He's heavily underrated as an artist and composer!

Well, I've now watched this 3 times. It's a really great interview. I already knew I liked Charlie but I didn't know he was that good at expressing himself outside of music as well.

Charlie doesn’t deserve Grammys. Instead, Grammys deserve to be held by this musical wizard.

I love this channel. Thank you for doing this work. My favorite thing is to hear brilliant creatives talk about their process and life experiences - it's simply the best education. Wildly inspiring. And *don't even get me started* about how lovely the interviewer is (both interviewers, really), and how much I adore Charlie Puth being so open here.

I saw Charlie during the summer at the ZPL birthday bash in Indianapolis! That was a fun concert I saw with my brother! I also saw Ava Max and Christian French there too! All 3 of them were incredible!

The album is super good I have been dancing to Most of them

Charlie's "Attention" was the only English cover song that Sb19 did in their first global tour. The fans went wild as Sb19 performed it in a very nice and sexy manner. I never even knew the song but started listening to it whrn Sb19 introduced it to us fans.

Zac Sang is so good at his job and knows how to make the star feel comfortable and how to open up. I hope he writes a book one day on his life and how he got into media because im sure it would be a hit. He's funny and smart and asks all the right questions with a twinkle in his eye. Big fan of the Zac man

Charlie is a very interesting artist

Totally agree about the 30-year mark somehow just being so transformative. Something about turning 30 just allows you not to care what people think about you anymore. No more bullshit. No more nonsense. It just felt so freeing. So, it makes total sense why Charlie felt that pull to just be himself. And, you can feel the difference in maturity in his music as time goes on. It's so cool to see his transition through time!

I see many people have the same reaction as I did. I give this album a 5/10 -- A wasted potential. Why? The album is not the best one I've listened to. By his whole "This is the most me" marketing I was expecting deeper lyrics, lyrics that aren't all about him losing a girl (maybe he should have named this album differently, not Charlie?), more bridges, better vocals, not 2 minute tiktok ringtones. Since he's often regarded as a genius, and I even took his songwriting course, obviously I was expecting more. Especially since he's proven to be better than this. Him saying in this interview that "before he was only about getting that hit song" out makes no difference, because this album is full of extremely short songs with little to no substance and an immense amount of autotune (THAT HE DOESN'T NEED) that's catered towards tiktok audience. It's not about conveying a message anymore. Imo, he made a mistake by taking Elton John's criticism so literal and running with it. It ruined his vibe, his artist identity and now we have what's supposed to be a professional, well-crafted album come off amateurish. I know he can do better than this, but maybe he doesn't care?

I think the album is alright enough, but I agree he has definitely not hit his peak as an actual songwriter

I think that the quick output is the problem with his new music. Voicenotes was an incredibly well-mixed and engineered album that even got a grammy nomination for the best-engineered album. Now Charlie compromises the former quality of his music in order to release a high quantity of songs. Attention was Charlie Puth's biggest hit and (as he stated in this interview) it took him 6 months to mix. Now he takes a week to mix, which makes a noticeable difference in the quality of his songs.
