That: "If hell is forever then heaven must be a lie..." whole part is the strongest one of the whole first season in my opinion. It's strong lyrically, ideologically, and from a plot standpoint, when you get a seraph to actually side with the daughter of Lucifer on this, both sharing the same point of view.

I love how this show addresses the debate of rehabilitative justice versus retributive justice. The only purpose to killing people (or turning a blind eye to things like prison gang violence and sexual assault) you've already sentenced is bloodlust that you think is okay because "they're criminals, they deserve it". Why make people suffer if you're going to kill them or ruin their life (eternal in this case) forever anyway? Sadism, pure and simple.

For some reason, this song reminds of the song The Robbery / Javert’s Intervention (Another Brawl) from Les Miserables. @@Y_o_r_u Well my guess is: Heaven isn't for people who didn't sin, it's for people who sinned and got redeemed (confession, etc.) If you can't be redeemed (Charlie's whole plan, redeem souls) then heaven is breaking it's own rules, not allowing redeemed souls to paradise.

And expanding on that, why is it that a Redeemed soul in heaven is allowed to not only kill, but take pleasure in it and still be allowed in heaven because they were at one point "redeemed?" Instead of pushing a narrative that they are there for being pious and good, it shows that once they get to heaven they can be more depraved than the demons in hell and there be zero consequences. Because "hell is forever" therefore heaven is too.
