Charlie, Charlie, Charlie!

These are the various iterations of the iconic Charlie perfume commercials that made Shelley Hack famous. Or was it the other way around? Afterall, the supermodel (even before that term was coined) definitely brought a lot of class, sass and pizzazz to these classic tv commercials. Shelley, embodying the timeless image of the smart, confident, and beautiful career woman, made Charlie perfume and its commercials well-known around the world. Great job, Shelley Hack!

I agree completely, we must be about the same age. I had a bottle as well given as a Christmas gift. I now have an adorable mini Pincher mix puppy and for some reson this song pops in my mind, it reminds me of my Ivy girl. It's going to her song.

Everything about that first commercial was perfect. Driving up in the classic car, looking at herself in the rearview mirror, tossing her hat to the doorman, twirling with a guy at the cool club, bouncing into the booth, the way she flicks her hair, Booby Short. I bet it sold a lot of cologne.

In the '70's she was one of the most dynamic..... elegant & classy young ladies ever seen on tv....her co-stars with Charlie's Angels had much more power at the time she became the newest cast member and they were so jealous of her...getting her pink slipped very early in the that tv series....yet she was strong and rebounded her career and life. Simply....still one of the best of all time! She also single handedly made $$ Millions for Revlon as the "Charlie Girl" in tv commercials back then.

Ladd couldn't stand Hack. Her alliances Lakso and Miller didn't like her either. So all it took was some backstabbing. Jackson had been all too aware of those tactics while she was on the show. Jackson had principles and didn't take shit from anyone. She was right but they gave her a reputation. Backstabbing at work! The ratings did in fact slip because Kate Jackson was no longer on the show. That was the problem. She was irreplaceable. And Spelling blames Shelley Hack for everything? More backstabbing. Kate and Shelley should write a tell all.

Indeed! CA wasted her potentials. Shelley was the best replacement they could have for Kate: pretty, fashionable, recognizable face, smart and funny. All they have to do was to back her up with sufficiently interesting storylines but the show fuc**d up big time on this. All those talk that she "cannot act" (because she can! see 2nd half of Season 4 when new scripts were written) were a smoke screen for the fact that Lakso's ideas for the show have run dry. It wasn't even a show that needed "serious acting" so that was really a stupid argument to throw against Shelley

Agree totally. The lazy and stupid head writer Ed Lakso was burning off prewritten scripts in the 1st half of season 4 , while feeding tabloids the lie that Shelley couldn't act so he wrote only token lines for her. With new writers and new scripts in the 2nd half of the season, the parts became equal for the 3 angels, and Shelley proved she was actually good and likeable. Dropping her from season 5 spelled instant death for the show. Viewers were already warming up to Shelley and the bikini-clad replacement was an unlikely character for a detective played by an overhyped wooden starlet
