Facts, if you tell a rapper to not rap bout doing drugs and sliding on opps we would of lost 80% of our over saturated rap artists. When charleston ain’t trolling he is spitting real facts that we need to hear because as a people we are getting stupider, lazier, men complaining playing the victim role ohh my daddy ain’t around or nobody ever did anything for me. Black people outside the country look at us with disgust and I kinda understand it we are not living up to black excellence.

There's tons of mainstream rappers who became successful without making gangsta rap so your argument there is simply not true. As far as black Americans, for you to generalise them calling them stupid and lazy is just ignorant. I'm black and outside of America but I've yet to see any stats that prove these wild claims. There's so many posts about black people in America accomplishing great things but people like you will choose to ignore that and use certain incidents to ignorantly generalise all black people smh.

Sad to say that slavery would be so easy these days because everything that was fought for is in reverse these days we sit at the back of the bus we don’t read and when rap first started it was all positive it’s so sad seems like everything our ancestors fought and died for went to waste

We are living in modern day slavery already champ. Mental slavery. I stopped listening to hip hop and all that garbage 🗑️ years ago. It really destroys minds. It’s programming through repeated words. If you are mentally weak or have a traumas etc… you become what you listen to. This is a STUDIED psychological effect and used for that VERY reason to destroy black minds. Especially in urban communities.

Back for a second comment. That’s why I said kanye was the only rapper trying to change the narrative with a gospel album and we criticized him to the core. Well his response is his kids don’t know God. We all have ran away from the Church. He’s not a pastor but you learn God in your home. As much as people claimed it was a cult he only recited Bible verses and made his gospel music dumb down to the people who seek. I in particular loved the album and understood his genius. Language played a BIG role in the Trayvon Martin trial. His friend that got on the stand did TERRIBLE job at speaking basic language. We defended Ebonics so much to the point where our youth speak that first.

@@todo8328 True. I know it’s official, but when you elect to use Ebonics over the traditional English words/phrases it opens up the door for stereotypes to be placed on you. Imo you should speak well enough to use it selectively. Ebonics shouldn’t be your primary/default speaking tone.

@@todo8328 white ppl validated that substandard jibberish by giving it an ethnic sounding label you niggas would embrace (ebonics) and now niggas think that lowered standard is acceptable. You see no other race lowers standards to compensate for being uneducated/inarticulate, because they understand that how you do anything is how you do everything. Lower the standard in one realm and it permeates other aspects of society (especially when you lower the standard for language & calling things by their proper name). Niggas will fall for anything...smh

The European executives won’t allow that anymore. That’s the problem…we have no resources that will allow us “black people” to control our own narrative. In other words the music is brainwashing the youth. Add the lack of resources, and the EuroMerican gatekeepers of our culture-rewarding dumb behavior music: and you get the state of current black America.

He right… cuz everybody promotes going into entertainment whether it’s athletics or Music/TV/Film whether it’s rapping or being on Empire… when I told my mom that I am a Smart Contract engineer 👨🏾‍💻 she was like “huh” what’s that?! And still don’t understand what it is that I do and I make high 6 figures 💰more money per year than when I was pursuing basketball 🏀 or Rapping/song writer ✍️ or actor on Empire… I don’t even try to explain myself anymore I just keep on getting more advanced in my career because at the end of the day ppl believe entertainment is good and it’s really not that profitable nor does it pay as well as having an actual skill or trade. 🛠️

That's why 1988 till 2008 will forever be the golden years of hip hop cus there was actually substance to music people was bringing new ideas every day so much timeless music was made from that 20 year period music that paved the way 4 people 2 be able to make the music they do today while making more then previous artists could of ever imagined when they was just getting on an getting a buzz! Don't get me wrong they talked about violence weed girls but that wasn't every single word of every single song the same thing over and over They use those things while telling real stories real tragedies real moments in the hood an the cultures history! Don't get me wrong there's good music but 90% of it is just party bump this song play it one week never hear it again very few songs that are being made now are timeless or will last the test of time

Music isn’t and probably won’t be as timeless as those in that era because entertainment isn’t scarce. We used to be limited to bet mtv cds and the radio. Now you hear whatever you want at the press of a button. Same goes for all things in entertainment.

Now everyone is a rapper(my little brother included)and they rap about non sense. I’m not sure if you know .. but death row tupac(11 months only) was extremely detrimental to the black youth back then. Today is really bad though.. I can’t even front.

Most these Rappers couldn't make a good song with a concept a real story painting a picture with they words an not just describing a gang hit an saying fawk they dead! Thing is music had real messages about life and love all the way up until hip hop went bad. And if the message was negative there was a message or an artistic angle too it. Point being, if these kids were real musicians, artists, and creators, they wouldnt have to rely on shock value and write about pure evil.
