This band may have saved Charles' life. Probably many others too. The photography is very impressive.

One of my favorite compositions. It has to be so tight to work with all the time changes but it's still lose And free.

I saw Bobby Jones with this Mingus band at the Village Vanguard. I had never heard of him and I understand that he was a walk on. The band was great although not the equivalent of the 1964 band with Eric Dolphy and Clifford Jordan that I saw at Town Hall. That would be asking too much.
