100 of millions if not more are wagered every month and people think the NBA and Vegas are just going to leave that up to “chance” it’s a BIG well elaborated scam they are running.

u mean tim donaghy? he’s said he didn’t change how he called, he just knew which way to bet based on what guidance the league gave the refs pre-game. for example if the nba says “watch for this type of foul on kobe when he’s driving”, kobe’s gonna get calls and most likely the lakers will cover the spread. believe him or not about changing his calls, this makes a lot of sense as a way the league can influence outcomes without needing to cover up a conspiracy

Tim can say whatever, the film shows the truth. Whether he did it intentionally or not is irrelevant. He definitely 100% made terrible calls that favored Lakers

The league has wanted more scoring and less physical play since the mid 2000's. Now we're seeing the shitty end result. The referees have more control over the game which leads to people thinking its rigged. They have way too much influence over the game

If the fans knew for sure, they wouldn’t spend their money on these athletes, which is why he said we can’t have fans thinking it’s fixed. Refs usually don't make wrong calls. They fix the game by not making all the calls.

100% because there is a foul/violation on almost every possession these days. So they can ignore 95% of them as ppl have gotten used to it, but choose to call it when the game is on the line or only on certain players/teams

In soccer when the result is 2:1 its very clear to see game-changing bad calls, but in basketball the results are 120-116 nobody counts how many points went from bad calls. It's just very easy to rig close games and nobody would even notice

Also, most basketball fans seem to not watch games or are not knowledgeable. They only seem to count bad calls in the last seconds or minutes of a game and not all the bad calls throughout the other 40+ minutes

the fact in last few years, its almost common that teams will get a 20 point lead, and lose the game,,,, as in to create drama in the game! cause used to games were either close or if u was up by 20 you was cookin and not let other team back in the game! thats just horrible time management and shot choices and bad defense to give up a 20 point lead

It was. But there were a ton of bad calls throughout the game that all went the Cavs way And Jarret Allen was getting superstar treatment, shot 20+ free throws while the whole Minnesota team shot like 13
