I've only seen Barkley in this sort of interview, but he seems like a lot of fun, and doesn't take himself too seriously.

He's still going outside like almost every other American. People still go to restaurants, still go to classes, still go on the bus, still do whatever. It's not pretty scary that people are still living their lives. Have you stayed home all day for the past month and continue to do so? No. People are still going to live their lives. If you don't want to go outside, fine, other people will.

Think about watching the a basktball game and all you hear are the sneakers squeaking and the commentators just talking. I mean maybe there will still be the "dododo-do-doo!" music or something, but without the crowd to continue it, it takes away the soul. Having games for the sake of getting through the season makes it less about the sport, and more about continuing business.

His comments about coronavirus was not smart. Just to give an example in France a religious meeting was held with people coming from different part of the country. As one was sick during this meeting it helped spread the virus when everyone went back home.

Agreed. It's spreading so fast. It's important to at least slow it down to buy time. Italy has a shortage of hospital space, professionals, and equipment. That could definitely happen here because it has not been handled well. Very little testing. And then hopefully there will be a vaccine eventually.

I think he has a PhD in Immunology and Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Auburn. Basketball was just something to fall back on in case science didn't work out.

The very next day, Charles announced he is self quarantining. Turns out he wasn't feeling well after this trip to NY and was advised to take the coronavirus test and is awaiting results.
