That's why 6:16 in LA is an important part of the battle. At the end of the song, Kendrick told Drake, "Before you figure that you're not alone, ask what Mike would do." People forget about Mike's song, "Man in the Mirror"... Edit: Thanks for the correction of my misquote. I appreciate it.😊

Kendrick was the one who tried to keep it just rap by warning Drake to stop looking for dirt and keep his family out of it. Drake knew he couldn't win by outrapping so he made it personal. Look at how bad his angles were in Family Matters. "Rapping like you trying to get the slaves freed", trash bar. "You're not in a gang", dumbest angle in the whole battle. Besides the fact that Drake is the softest man in rap, how is it a diss to say Kendrick isn't in a gang? He never claimed to be in one, he specifically makes music to encourage people to not be in gangs. And it's only a positive that he's a dude from Compton who didn't fall into gang life. Just made Drake look bad because he's an almost 40 year old Canadian who grew up in a gated community and thinks gang life is cool while Kendrick grew up around the violence and poverty and doesn't try to glorify it. These terrible angles were indicative of how bad Drake is at attacking his opponents. Just like when he tried to claim Push was fake which is ironic coming from someone whose entire life and career is a fabrication. There was no universe where Drake was gonna outrap Kendrick. Just like he was never going to outrap Push. If it wasn't for the Back to Back strategy he'd have probably lost to Meek too. Beating Meek Mill looks like a fluke at this point.

Drake could've avoided the personals and he would've been spared. No one to blame but himself. "Take that mask off, I wanna see what's under them achievements" "Identities on the fence, dont know which family would love ya". "Don't be ashamed of who you with, that's how he treat ya moms". Just some of the hardest hits to me. Adonis seems to have a strong relationship with his mom (SEEMS) She's the only one who's been with him day 1, no pusha T track. When he grows up and asks "Daddy was ashamed of you? He didn't want me". People focus on the pedo stuff so bad that they either intentionally or unintentionally forget the bars that really cut to your core. I'm pretty sure Drake said his mom called after Meet the Grahams.... When you realize the 4 songs are really an album too then you see. Every Drake fan gets hype for family matters and idc i know that second verse by heart. But i know the entire euphoria by heart with no problem. Drake did good, Kendrick did excellent.

I thought the hardest hit from MTG was "why believe you? You never gave us nothing to believe in." Because it underscores the exact problem with Drake, the most pressing problem with him as an artist. He's entirely inauthentic, nothing about him is genuine. When I heard that I thought "that's a great point, why should I believe someone whose career is built in a bed of lies?". It ties into the "take that mask off" line tho so kinda the same thing. But that was the highlight of that last verse regardless.

It is more so because if you sign a talented artist, these days they will figure out that they can go on their own from your 360° deal that's horrible. Do exactly like Russ did and go on your own like him to bankroll his albums by taking a loan from a bank and the intrest is minimal as is the risk. Risk is minimal because you are talented.. with a fanbase. If you are baaad which is what todays youth have grown accustomed to as the norm of talent. You have no option than be on the label grind and hope your album makes more than your 2mill loan from the label, then they take a cut and you get a cut that's not big... Then they even steal money in every transaction they can so Everything needs to go thru accountant. People out here wondering why 21 Savage would be trying to trick Adin Ross in a stream in a card game with big bet. Because these rappers ain't as rich as people think. If they go on their own, nobody will listen them because they have not been marketed like crazy and then they own to the bank money from the album or lose own money.

People don't care about lyricism beyond some one liners and quotables. It's mostly just about having a good beat and a catchy hook. Lyricism in rap is a dying art thanks to guys like Drake who have commercialized the genre so heavily that people just want easily digestible and accessible music. Same thing with the film industry relying so heavily on superhero movies, all about accessibility and nothing else. Producers in rap should be the ones making all the money tbh. Guys like Metro Boomin are the reason these rappers have hits because the beats bang which is what draws people to it. Like Pusha T said "the game's fucked up, the beats is bangin n**ga ya hooks did it". Get a nice beat and catchy hook and anyone can have a hit song. Wouldn't be surprised if execs were picking artists based on their marketability and just hiring writers to write them hooks so they can pump out hits.

It's just like his raps. He can't make true authentic traditional rap songs. He can only make pop-infused rap. Look at Taylor Made as proof of how limited his bag is as an artist. @@Zack-vi7is No fool. The "multiple #1 hits" belong to Drake - 13 to be exact, alongside the most streamed male artist of ALL TIME, alongside 170 million records sold. Before "Not Like Us", Kendrick's only #1 record on the Billboard Hot 100 which is "Humble." So like I said, Kendrick had to diss Drake to get a number one. Drake's sales compared to Kendrick is like an NBA player vs a high school player. You Kendrick groupies don't research sh%t.
