    Them Levi's are womens mate. Put your hands in the pocket - if you can't get your hand in all the way like on mens jeans then they're womens. I presume that's why they carry a handbag...because they've got no pockets!

    Charity shops where I live are more expensive that eBay and Amazon - crazy. Anything slightly "retro" or "vintage" is whacked up in price. Also hear they save all the best stuff and goes directly to antique shops / auction. Not the same anymore :(

    You are pretty confident to bargain with a charity shop. I asked the price of an item once as it wasn’t labelled, the person said a ridiculous price and I said I’d leave it, they asked how much I would pay - said a couple of quid (it was a bowl) - I then got berated and told it was a charity shop and they have to make money and they shouldn’t let items go less than they asked, enough for everyone to hear. Felt great leaving that place 😅 Didn’t fancy ever doing that again. Kudos to you if it works for you! 🥳

    Nothing wrong with haggling in charity shops. They don't pay for their stock, it's donated and a hell of a lot of it is overpriced anyway. You can haggle in retail shops if you wish, you be surprised how many would offer you a good deal. Great video as always 👍

    I wouldn’t haggle in a charity shop personally, or in a regular retail shop, but my Dad who was a shop manager for years used to say a price ticket was only an invitation to buy so presumably that is open to negotiation if you are that way inclined and want to give it a go. If you don’t ask you don’t get after all.

    Each to their own with haggling / bargaining in charity shops but I prefer doing the opposite, my local hospice shop is everything for £2 so I happily put money towards their raffles / fundraisers every time I buy an item. The “fake Levi’s” are an authentic women’s model, the brief look at the inside tag popping out looked to be from late 00’s, it’s always worth checking inside tags to authenticate for model etc as you can’t tell from the back patch alone 😌

    I think bartering in the charity shop is a hard topic. I think it depends how you go about it/ the relationship you have with that shop. Sometimes they would rather have a polite offer to shift something they have overpriced. If you try to knock down everything that’s not great but I think how you go about it is fine.

    Hi Jack I’ve watched a few of your videos now and am a reseller myself hence the interest. I understand why you haggle because of “your motto” you don’t ask you don’t get. However I think you need to look at it from a different perspective mate. You are basically saying you’d rather have a few extra quid left in your pocket and gain more profit than give the charity the money it’s asking for. It’s irrelevant if you’ve spent thousands in them or not as that’s your choice to do so. I spend a lot of money in charity shops myself as it benefits them, the environment and of course my pocket but if I see something that is maybe a little more than I want to pay I wouldn’t dream of haggling. Mainly because someone will pay that and the charity will get what they want for that item and every little helps. There’s clearly a lot of people that share this opinion and I think for the longevity of your channel it’s something I’d look to stop. You might gain a couple quid extra profit but you will genuinely lose interest from viewers that disagree with it. You are also someone that clearly doesn’t struggle for money and this is purely a side hustle for you which doesn’t help your cause haggling volunteers over a couple quid. Dont mean any harm by this comment and I’m sure you might not agree, I’ll likely continue to watch your videos but just think personally it’s something that doesn’t look great on you. Also side note I would avoid the long intros explaining who you are and what you do every video and where you get your packaging from etc etc. Either space it out across a few videos when you’re uploading often anyway or just shorten it, as it can be quite boring listening to the same thing each time. I think a lot of people just enjoy the shopping and finds! All the best!

  • @JackFlipsEbay

    @JackFlipsEbay

    2 ай бұрын

    Thanks for sharing your opinion & commenting. It helps out the channel a lot. Regarding the long intros, my channel isn’t established yet. I’ve been doing it just over 2 months now so I’m still getting loads of new viewers every day. I like to introduce myself, so people can try and get to know me on a personal level. So my viewers can gain a real perspective of what I’m like! I will take your advice into consideration 👌🏽 Regarding the haggling. This video may come across like I do it all the time! I do it in certain situations where I feel like items are over priced. A lot of these charity shops; the volunteers know who I am. They are more than happy to drop the prices as they know they are overpriced themselves. I think haggling is fully down to opinions. In my opinion I don’t see the real issue with it. I’m saying this because I go to them every week and spend a lot of money in them. Not only in the charity shops. But I donate to: Air Ambulance & BHF monthly! You can probably tell what kind of guy I am. I’m very open and happy to listen to everyone’s opinions.I respect everyone’s opinion. On the other hand I get lots of people messaging and commenting saying they don’t see the issue with haggling. So opinions are 50/50. Overall my real motive for the channel is to help people understand how easy it is to make money. Especially in the currently climate we live in. I believe my videos motivate people to head out and go to their local charity shops rather than sit on the sofa & do nothing. Which in turn will benefit all the charity shops! Once again thanks for the comment ☺️

    Things to note... *Kettering charity shops have managers who are young and on the ball what things sell for and price their stock for 2/3rds of eBay sell prices, so many reseller's are deterred. *The post in the other video about the other and arguably the best charity shop was probably correct. However due to poor directions or your misunderstanding you never found it. But I'm 99% sure you drove past it on your way home. * The Khetto has at least 4 other daily checker's/reseller's checking stock out, then there is the weekly chancers who come on their days off. *You guys are overlooking something on your own turf. * There is areas of the charity shops you don't even look in.... @@JackFlipsEbay I am not saying you can't find some nice items from time to time but the stuff is more expensive and the value of second hand goods have come down like mad . I buy on Ebay because it is so cheap for the buyers times have never been better

    Think it's proper scummy haggling in charity shops! Hate to see it!

    Agree. You wouldn't go into Tesco or Sainsburys and haggle so why do they think that it is acceptable in a charity shop. In fact it is worse. I can understand if you were on the poverty line but to haggle when you will sell it on is just poor form.

    When you go into charity shops regularly and get to know how they work. The workers appreciate people like me going in there and spending the amount of money I do. They do not care if they make £10 or £1 on an item. In my opinion. I will not stop buying and asking if they can do a deal. My moto is “ you don’t ask you don’t get “
