• CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME...
This is old news from November 2023 making its rounds again as Malaysians feel the pinch from increasing financial hardship.
The government is spending RM20 million on more than 600 Palestinian students, for tuition fees and monthly living allowance. Palestinian students in both public and private universities are to get the monthly allowance. That’s about RM33,000 per student per year.
Do Malaysian students from B40 backgrounds get such monthly living allowances?
The government is also putting pressure on private universities to waive tuition fees for the 200 or so Palestinian students studying there.
In this short message, our guest socio-political commentator, Saudara Imraz Ikhbal tackles the consequences of the Malay peribahasa:
“Anak kera di hutan disusui, anak sendiri di rumah kebuluran.”
