"Fifty million stars in our galaxy have the potential of supporting life forms capable of traveling to other planets," says world-renowned authority Erich von Daniken, whose film version of his best- selling book, CHARIOTS OF THE GODS, gives stunning visual proof that some form of life from outer space landed on Earth centuries ago. It took five years for von Daniken to document, on film, the physical evidence of visits by galactic travelers who came to Earth. Just what they did here and the influences they left behind is the core of the film. In search of basic truths, the film, CHARIOTS OF THE GODS, takes the viewer into the far reaches of underground caves and tombs, and to the tops of desolate mountains on every major continent to show the evidence von Daniken has been collecting. Although this controversial film may provide the answers to age old mysteries, it may be the beginning of an entirely new set of questions. DOCUMENTARY

My Dad took us to see this when it first came out back in '71 at a Drive In Theater in Omaha, NE. I was 8yo and was, and still am, fascinated by the unexplained mysteries of our world, which Main Stream Archeologists and Scientists refuse to believe that we humans, are in fact, all star children.

My Dad took Me to see this when first released. Wasn’t aware what He was up to then, but after 2001 Space Odyssey I realized his Navy years showed Him things He wanted Me to know about. Smart man

The over exaggeration by the narrator is next level. But at the same time he makes me wanna listen to him more and the background music adds more intensity on whole subject. BIG UP, RETRO DOCS ARE BEST. 💯

Erich was a pioneer that things aren’t what they seem. And he’s still at it! Bless him for trying to tell people not to accept everything so called academics say. They are wrong far more often than they’re right.

He didn't come up with anything new . The ancient astronaut theory and its variants can at least be traced back to Theosophical teachings . Theosophy is a gnostic religious movement- and it is pretty relevant when we consider that its offshoot, the Lucis Trust (previously called Lucifer Trust) has Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) and its 'World Goodwill' is a United Nations Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).

The alien hypothesis is ridiculous. Where does the modern engineering knowledge come from? Not from outer space. It comes from people. The ancient peoples certainly loved stone and knew how to work in it. Today we don't know such knowledge and skill but it certainly comes from human intelligence. The rest is simply artistic imagination.
