Well the original Mario was done long before Paarthurnax. So it’s highly possibly his voice got deeper as he got older to be able to pull those off. Just my thoughts. If you listen closely you can hear the age in his voice with the dragon.

You do realize that Charles Martinet voices other characters within the Mario franchise, right? He's voiced not only Mario, but also Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Toadsworth, Metal Mario, Shadow Mario, Piantas (Male), Mini-Mario Toys, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi and Baby Wario. When I heard he voiced a dragon, I was surprised that he decided to do that, but hearing it. I can actually hear Charles.

Hey, Charles Martinet is a pretty flexible guy. he has voiced many a character within the Mario Franchise and is pretty willing to do what is asked of him. I'm pretty sure when he was given the script for Super Mario 3D World, he was the only voice actor that, when they saw the fact that they were supposed to add "Meow" for their Flag line, that instead of saying, "What?" said "Okay".

Tbh, I'm not surprised that he can voice them, I'm surprised because they sound like totally different people. Well person and dragon. This really shows how voice actors have immense talent at what they do and can play characters on complete different ends of the spectrum. Some of these you would never have guessed and are pretty mindblowing.

Dee Bradley Baker has done a million and one voices, so comparing just two is crazy. Especially since every voice sounds completely different...not to mention the fact that he's done pretty much all the animal noises in everything (he does Perry the Platypus! I've watched a video of him doing it but it doesn't seem human; and that's just scratching the surface of the animal noises he does, it's incredible!).

Robie Making this comment has made me sad. Saying that I already knew humanity is pretty dumb. With the caveat that all children are "dumb" and its ok to make mistakes like this. Hmmm. Just had a thought. At what age can most people grasp obvious sarcasm? Like what is the percentage per year of age? My friends 7 year old boy understands irony which is a more complicated concept than sarcasm, and some adults cant even grasp it (like Alanis Morissette). So there is some hope for the human race :)

+NicosMind Sarcasm is hard to perceive in the form of text. There are no voice tones that could be understood as sarcasm. At first i thought were being serious, but then after thinking for a few seconds, i thought of it as sarcasm and i was right. It wasn't that obvious, though.

I always thought GLaDOS and The Announcer would get along, I see they have more in common than I knew :T

Pooh isn't the only Disney character he does. His first ever voice over gig was as Lionel the lion in Dumbo's Circus. He's Darkwing Duck and Negaduck. Monterey Jack, Fat Cat, Sargent Spinneli, and Professor Nimnal from Rescue Rangers. Don Karnage on Talespin. Razoul the guard in Aladdin. Luckey and Bonkers in Bonker. Ed the hyena and some of Scars singing in The Lion King. Pete from Mickey Mouse. He took over for King Louie, Tigger, Big Bad Wolf, Doc, Cheshire Cat, Kaa, Tony from Lady and the Tramp. He was also Fuzzy Lumpkins from The Power Puff Girls and Taz from Looney Tunes.
