Actually she is! I rewinded it several times but a single tears comes from each of her eyes. The rain is meant to disguise them but they are there if you look really hard at 2:13 you can already see one on her right cheek beneath her bang swoop before it slides down her jaw.

It's that moment when light fades from Snezhevna's eyes that gets me every time. I've seen that before. I know I would've killed someone else, too, if I had the power to do so, and if that could've brought the light back to those eyes. It's an animation, but it looks just like that. Good job, hoyo. Good parenting, Arlecchino.

Arlecchino makes me think of those stories where a parent passes away and though they didn't really talk or say much at home, when the child goes to collect their belongings from work, they find a bunch of pictures of them together and hear from their parents coworkers how they would talk about them all the time.

As I said on a short I saw, she became an unloving uncaring Father so their children wouldn't have much to lose, but to her who already lost her "family" since she was a child and twice not only from abandonment but also the fighting on the House of the Hearth, she shouldn't stand to lose her loved ones even as uncaring and unloving she tries to be, she cares and loves her children, good thing it was raining

Often when characters are shown to close someone's eyes after they die, they 1) usually know its going to happen 2) Care about the person who died, and/or 3) respect the deceased very much We can see that despite how awful she may seem, she has her own reasons I think there is a lot more to her character than "Mommying so hard she became Father" and "please step on me" and how she's killed a bunch of people (y'know, Fatui) Im excited to see where her story goes from here

He has a unique and very interesting background/story for sure and i do really like it but he as a character unfortunately just comes across as a child who doesn't get his way rather than a character who has a compelling personality. Even parts of his backstory weren't that interesting. 😔 Personally for me, arle so far has had no weak points in her story telling thus far with the small amount we've seen.

Arlecchino seems the best done to me as well. From presumptions and original snezhnaya trailer you think shes evil, the way other characters talk about her is just a villain in its own. However her own children call each other and and members of the orphanage a home. Despite going through alot, she STILL doesnt force any of the children at the orphanage to join her. She just doesnt want to be seen as weak, and I find the way shes holding on super admirable.

some things i noticed... 1. fontaine has a big orphan problem 2. there's only one graveyard in all of fontaine 3. "fatherless behavior" comments incoming to people who don't have arlecchino 4. arlecchino really likes offing people with her feet 5. hoyo needs to do more backstory animations and this teaser is one of the best so far

It is just more highlighted I think, in reality liyue(China) has more orphan issue than Fontaine(French) oh don’t forget adeptius also adopt lots of female orphans which might kinda referring to those abandoned female babies in China

I'm actually a bit glad hoyo isn't scared to show a bit of blood in their teasers. It really adds in the seriousness and tension. Hope they do more like this in the future 1:32

If i don't remember bad its just the surname everyone in the house of the heart has, altho its gender specific, a russian thing that males and females even if from the same family can have two different surnames

It's a patronymic all Hearth's children get, so i guess it's significance is to show that they're "children of Snezhnaya" (that girl in Inazuma that told us a bit about the hearth also had this patronymic)

From what I remember, she despises Dottore because of his experiments towards the children. He even told her to send any ‘rejects’ to him (which she obviously refused); not to mention that he and the previous Knave have a good relationship. The source is from her voiceline about Dottore.

Everyone's talking about Arlechinno and no body is seeing the reference to Tartufe, a play by Molière. It's been a while since I read the play, but it was a Comedy play about a wealthy family being scammed by a man named Tartufe, who was parading around as a good man or a monk. One of the two. But basically this family was like, "he's scamming us, we know it!" And he somehow managed to wiggle out of their schemes to expose him because the head of the house refused to believe his family, right up til the very end when he tried to woo one of the young daughters to marry him. Very amusing play, highly recommend giving it a read or attend a performance if you can. The man in this video was named Tartufe, was touted as a kindly philanthropist, but turned out to be a Not So Good Person.

She really does care about her children then, it makes me wanna pull for her even more now

I can tell Arlecchino has some deep lore behind her just from this teaser alone.

I was originally going to pull for Arlechinno bc i had all the children, but after seeing this trailer and the animated short, i desperately need her because she's so badass.

I love how complex Arlecchino is as a character. Kind to some and ruthless to others. Not all good and not all evil. Undeniable are her power and self confidence. I may not agree with her murdering people (even bad people who deserve some retribution) but I'm wishing for her.

Snezhevna was the first kid she adopted from previous animation. On top of that, Neuvillette mourned with Arlechinno (the rain).

It's been consistent that Arlecchino doesn't like showing goodness with bad intentions, she probably does the the reverse. Hence the Father title as opposed to her predecessor.
