Fun fact relating to Bulma being a clothing line: Bulma is actually named after an article of clothing. She’s named after bloomers. Her family’s naming convention is different types of underwear. I’m not kidding, her parents name are Brief and Bikini, her sister is called Tights and her children are called Trunks and Bra. No, I don’t know why. Edit to add: The Amazing World of Gumball had an episode where Gumball found out his real name was Zach and promptly changed literally everything about his personality until they legally changed it. I guess Jacob is also from that universe.

@@mxspokes That’s true. In Japanese the Saiyan race is an anagram for their word for vegetable and everyone is named after a vegetable so I guess the naming scheme has some logic to it on that one. Krillian’s named after a beer company too I think, ‘Kirin’ specifically. I just don’t know why Bulma’s family is specifically underwear, it’s an odd choice.

Fun fact about Eda Clawthorne: apparently, she was once married to grunkle Stan from Gravity Falls. Yep, you've read that correctly. There's an episode where Stan talks about how he was married for a single day, while in Las Vegas, to a woman named Marilyn, but she ran away with his casino winnings. He describes her having pale bingo hall skin, one weirdly sharp tooth, and thought that her hair was probably fake. He also mentions that she was wearing a bright pink shirt reading "over 30 and very flirty", and in a concept art from the show you can see Eda with a very similar shirt that reads "30 and flirty", she also has a mug with that tagline on the show itself. In a 2018 edition of a Gravity Falls graphic novel is possible to see a wanted poster with a silhouette that is unmistakably Eda. In the episode "Yesderday's Lies" we also learn that Eda had a pseudonym whenever she went to the human realm, and the very name she used was Marilyn. So yeah. Eda x Grunkle Stan is a thing. And probably most of the weird stuff in Gravity Falls came from the Demon realm, or any other similar dimensions.

I’m so glad we had an extended tangent to talk about naked mole rats because they are my favorite thing at the National Zoo. The zoo even has a special section for “elderly” naked mole rats, who can reach 30 years old, where they don’t have to go up and down the little tubes and can just enjoy tasty treats in a nice big simple room. But also… I am kind of surprised neither Julia nor Karina got into the difference between naked and nude in art criticism.

I know i read those books, or at least the first few, but i feel like that specific series only exists as fragments of a dream. Like i know there were brain worms or something. I remember toby getting stuck as a bird, and all the kids hanging around in an abandoned construction site, but... did anything happen? Like, for all the aliens and brain worms, all i remember is the corner pages flipping for that little animation from human to animal and some vague telepathic stuff going on.

@@NicknotNak The brain worms--technically slugs, were the yeerks, and they took over the bodies of creatures and stole their free will. Tobias does get stuck as a bird. And the kids do wind up in an abandoned construction site. The kids learn to talk telepathically while in animal morph. All of this happens within the first book lol. And a TON of stuff happens later on. I can't go through everything, obviously, but some major points are (in no paticular order): lots of death and gore, time travel, body dysmorphia, children dealing with depression and PTSD, criticisms of abelism, racism, war, animal abuse, etc. Lots of murder, sometimes torture. 13 year old war criminals. At some point, a character gets split in two. Cinnamon buns :). One character has to try and kill their mother MULTIPLE times. Reminder that these are books given to primary school kids lmao. So yeah, a lot happens within 54+ books, but they're fun and short reads (and the flipbook animations are the best part!!)

I love the running joke that they have no idea what episode they're recording, and strange things just happen to them in the opening of each episode that are COINCIDENTALLY related! Like. It just gets me every time! "Oh it's so weird that you said that because today's episode is--"

Nathan's Duck Owl Lady felt like a sort of weird version of Magica De Spell with gray hair. Like the sister she pretends she doesn't have who is a little weird and tries to be an evil witch but accidentally helps Scrooge and the boys all the time and ruins Magica's carefully laid plans.

I feel sorry for the ones who don't stay for the full outro Fun fact: i missed julia's quick sorry IMMEDIATELY, so glad she got called out

This is my favorite episode I’ve watched in a while. The banter is amazing and had me laughing so much it hurt my laryngitis. Please never stop with these thought experiments and Julia’s googling.

Can’t wait for the episode where they do 3 full animorph phases between two characters in a speed draw and make them look like the book covers

The phenomenon of watching too much Drawfee is that you can mouth the words of certain Drawfee-isms along with the hosts like a movie you've seen a thousand times, despite having never seen the episode. The dark side of this phenomenon is when the hosts miss a chance for a very obvious Drawfee-ism, and you're left there mouthing the words, but no one is saying anything out loud.

Karina missed that one, but did the challenge for the 'challenges we missed' episode. She made the sad crying horse from Zatch Bell- I think that's what you remember. No worries, they've done a ton of pokemon challenges. Plus other youtubers have done 'pokemon based off their cry' challenges, so it's totally understandable to remember Drawfee doing a pokemon cry challenge.

Each of these was so lovingly rendered I’m crying

Just wanna say, thanks for starting to draw on grey backgrounds. The pure white backgrounds used to be blinding if watched at night. This is much easier on the eyes, and I appreciate it very much. Fun fact; the Howard the Duck live action movie did actually give me trauma! I was at a daycare where the staff seemingly did not care at all, they put that movie on VHS and just left us in a room with it playing. I think I was 4?

Draw Animorphs aliens just based on their descriptions! I love seeing different artists interpretations of Andalites.

To answer the question of what Tobin Wolf, the creator of Thundercats, invented, he apparently patented mostly different children's toys and games, as well as a toilet sanitizer with a disposable container for some reason.

I just found out yesterday the artist who did the Animorph covers has an Etsy where they sell them as full as prints so this could not be better timed with that kind of news

You just dug up childhood memories of mine by mentioning the naked mole rat book. I remember thinking it was weird and now I am experiencing that same feeling right now.

Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed is actually one my favorite books to read to kids, so it was kind of surreal to hear it come up here! It's really cute and it sends a great message to kids about being accepting of other people.

My immediate thought on seeing Karina's characters was "The bow should become the eyes!" and honestly now I really want to see that.

Watching this while anxiously awaiting the arrival of my glorious p’boy. I cannot wait to enhance this drawfee experience once he graces me with his presence

My favorite part about the utterly cursed transformations (duck tongue to Eda-tooth) is that they're actually more accurate to Animorphs lore than a smooth transition would be. Despite the iconic covers, morphing in the books is described as utter body horror.

@@caitlynstarrparrish Including the morphs accurately would be impossible. Not only would you have to osmosis Jones a lot of it, since many of the descriptions focus on what the kids organs and bones are doing, it would be like adapting Warrior Cats in a visual medium. Just because of how things work, it would stop being appropriate for the age group. Heck, reading the books as a teenager, I only skimmed those passages instead of fully imagining it.

I wish that they'd somehow made use of half-morphs in the Animorphs books. Cassie could control the order that parts of her changed in so she could totally mix and match different parts to make a very useful frankenstein. Imagine all the awful stuff you could do if you had elephant sized bug parts. That'd be a lot of venom. The only times I remember half-morphs being a thing is one time when Marco was a gorilla driving a truck and changed just human enough to be able to speak, and I think the time that Rachel was allergic to an alligator she turned into a fish with gorilla arms.

The frightening comparison between Stewie-O and Hisoka made me pause the video to let out a god awful wail and tear up because of the sheer horror of that statement

Along the bulma clothing line .. they do have "trunks, briefs, bra" etc in that family. Also thankfully no mention of a certain weird evolution ducks have gone through in the genital area

I love Julia's drawing because it also works as a middle-morph for both movie versions of the Oompa Loompas. It's like someone put the actor from the Tim Burton movie in the 1970s make up and costume.
