I feel like the metaverse being having such sanitized aesthetics and such a non threatening kitsch overall goes back to many episodes back when Felix brought up how people liked bernie because they got tired living in an infantilized world and how bernie spoke to everyone like an adult. The metaverse is basically the imagination of the striver class illustrated: nothing actually new, just fancy enough to impress the suits in the C-suites because theyre too old to know better.

one thing ive just noticed from my observation is that literally no one cares about the metaverse except like every company that makes commercials for TV, cuz on TV ive seen so many commercials from various companies with like an old person understanding of technology where the subject has a VR headset on in some random place and is doing things "in the metaverse"

For the record, the whole point of an FSA is that it expires every year. The HSA is the one that accumulates over time. It’s all stupid. The FSA is basically insurance but they don’t negotiate down the cost. You need insurance, insurance to cover healthcare that insurance doesn’t cover, and a tax deductible savings account to cover expenses THOSE don’t cover

Have people forgotten the Second Life? 20 years ago they tried making this virtual paradise that is pretty much what the metaverse is promising. By the way, you can't stream Second Life on Twitch, one of the first games to get banned on the platform because it's a degenerate place. And metaverse will be too.

I love being told how another aspect of my life is being commodified by a rainbow coalition of PMCs 🥲. Let me know when the suicide machine enhancement is included in a software update.
