I like how house Herpetrax never swore loyalty to the emperor. They've been chaos OG forever. Plus they get additional 4 wounds to large knights 2 to wardogs on the table top which make then rather spicy.

The Imperial Knights are a symbol of honor and chivalry for many within our beloved Imperium and they blessed by the Machine God and the Immortal Emperor to be our most formidable defenders. So, when a Knight falls to darkness they abandon their honor and their sanity and become slaves to the bloodthirsty machine from whence they were once bonded.

Finally Chaos Knights get the Baldermort treatment

The recent showing of the Chaos Knight House Mandrakor was very impressive! Their forces defended their homeworld in the Nachmund Gauntlet against an full combined Imperial strike-force lead by a dozen chapters of spacemarines. And they then linked up with the enormous Chaos Armada, that Abaddon gave to Haarken Worldclaimer to conquer the Gauntlet with. They brought 600-700 knight-suits to the banner of the Warmasters chosen lieutenant!

@@baldermort It is the central plotline in the latest warzone book for Nachmund called "Rift War" Abaddon is done playing around. He has tasked Haarken with taking the Gauntlet, closing the crossing and breaking into the Imperium Sanctus side. He has given his chosen lieutant a warfleet of almost 600 capital-class warships! That is almost the size of an original Legion fleet x2!! That is huge, and the imperium is loosing badly in their attempts to contain him so fare. Crusade Fleet Secundus of the Indomitus Crusade has been forced to allocate almost its entire strength to the Sanctus-end of the Nachmund Gauntlet, and even then the imperium isn't sure of a win!

Giant Mecha knights fueled by the hunger of thirsting gods, their black hearts forged in the fires of treachery and metal tested against all the galaxy has to offer it is for that reason that chaos knights shall forever stand as my favorite faction in Warhammer 40k

@@baldermort If it helps in the 9th edition Codex, there's imperial reports of seeing Voidships flying alongside tyranid fleets. Not all cults are devoured entirely.

Assassinorum: Kingmaker, by Robert Rath is a really good Black Library novel that just came out a few month ago. It takes place on a Knight world. It has Officio Assassinorum characters, but it's mostly full of Imperial Knight stuff, and maybe even some of the ol' spikey corruption going on behind the scenes. It's really good, way better than most of the BL stuff to come out in the last 10 years.

I've been working on a Chaos Knight (Khorne) "commission" for a friend recently. Listening to this installment of Baldermort's Badazery helps get me in the mindset and gives me inspiration to let the monsters from the warp influence the death machine before me. It seems like Titians get most of the glory, but if you think about it, you have to be this 1 in billions born with what is basically aa "stable" mutation AND you have to survive the trials to be found fit to pilot a giant tool of war that may be tens of thousands of year old because the witch doctors of the red planet "forgot" how to make them... Knights on the other hand seem like a more obtainable, more of a murderbot of the people, type of instrument. Like a Camaro or Mustang vs Bugatti or Lamborghini, sure most of us couldn't afford any of those but, at least here on the other side of the pond, one may be more attainable because they're more common, seen more often. I'd be able to test drive a Mustang long before I'd be allowed to touch a Bugatti. Granted, I'm only comparing the grouped Titians and knights, a generalization if you will. If we start throwing all the other vehicles of 40k into this then my car comparisons would need to be adjusted. My rambling will end now before I write a novel that reads like the scribbles of a mad man. Love the channel(s)!

I love how Knights look. Theyre such a unique design choice for mechs and a far more realistic take on a walker when compared to the more anime style walkers. The War Dogs have an awesome hunched look and the new taller and thinner jousters with shock lances and ion shields. Plasma lances would be cool as melee power weapons which can sometimes shoot semi accurate plasma shots.

As a (relatively) new Chaos Knights owner of just over 2 years, I have enjoyed this immensely. I hope you will do a story and guide to the other great knights in the universe (I am biased towards desiring Chaos versions, but I will anticipate loyalist leaning versions equally) - namely the Armiger Moirax, the Questoris Styrix, the Questoris Magaera, the Cerastus Class Atrapos, Castigator, Lancer, and Acheron. And of course, the mighty Acastus-class Porphyrion.

A little off-topic, but I have a question. You mentioned that he is looking for a true son of Horus and that makes me think of a question that I have had for some time. Due to the mutations that they suffer, will the old traitor legions eventually cease to exist? I do not mean Chaos Marines in general, I mean the sons of Angron, Horus, Kurz and the rest. Will we reach a point where all traitor marines are from loyalist chapters?

Is the Word Bearer still gonna pick up some blood pact boys?

“Individualistic Knights” works just as well as “Individual Knights” imo, Lord B :)
