Drew Harris is the most unpopular Garda Commissioner in Irish history. Over 90% of the Garda Representative Association demanded his resignation recently and he ignored them. Also, the immigrant knife attack is not an isolated incident. This week also saw the sentencing of murderer Jozeph Puska who stabbed a young Irish primary school teacher in the neck 11 times. The Irish are angry with Drew Harris, Helen McEntee and Leo Varadkar. All three of them refuse to take any responsibility for what their reckless immigration policies have caused. They have opened our borders to murderers and don't seem to realise that the calibre of people they welcome to our country will have an impact on our society. Meanwhile Irish working classes are impoverished.

My thoughts are with the injured and those who witnessed the incident. Politicians have not been listening to its people all over the UK. It has made me afraid for a very long time, letting undocumented individuals into the country, allowing them to roam our beautiful land until they are deemed safe. Closing the stable door after the horse has bolted…government needs to think about its citizens and protecting them. I’m not excusing the damage from last night, but these are people who have reached breaking point. The Palestinian marches have been just as damaging, but the government appeasing them and excusing their hate speech and war memorial graffiti. Double standards

This felt as bad as a Sky News report. No reference to the knife man and his origin and marginalising the protesters.

Why are the media focusing more on the reaction to a heinous crime than on the crime itself?

Police commissioner is disgusting, if he’d of been doing his job there wouldn’t have been a family stabbed. They blame one side while refusing to even identify the person they arrested. I hope it grows and spreads from here to the rest of the UK, the authorities refuse to identify the problem while turning on those who’ve had enough of the crime and violence associated with refugees.

How can the politicians blame the Irish people for this? 😮 Politicians ignore their people at their own peril. The only thing I will say now is to the Irish people - make sure you don’t harm your own. If your anger is at the rulers and decision makers then THEY must be the ones to reap what they have sown, not the Irish people.

Some of them bring violence here, and are not properly vetted. Our government don't care about their own, so some sort of demonstration was building up for the past while.

Look at how the official police statement given before the "protests" was structured to be provocative. Look at it: the police representative invalidated the public's fears and incited them by, between the lines, implying that the man they had stopped and caught red handed may just as likely have been the victim here. An Garda are politicized thugs for the colonial puppet government, and this riot was against them, which you can tell because in the moments following the incident which shaped thr public response, they were clearly being booed on live TV by the onlookers for their high-handed treatment of the people who live there and saw everything. This violence was against the state first and foremost, but the state will try to portray it as essentially racist.

The shame is on Leo and the other politicians for letting down the Irish people and their concerns. Along with the fear mongering & distortion of what actually happened and to whom.
