honestly I think the most impressive thing about this is how incredibly clean you keep your workspace while crafting, I could never 😭 by the time I’m done it looks like someone threw a fursuit in my room and it exploded

I'm watching this with my jaw on the floor the entire time at how creative and clean all of this is. Like a few other folks in the comments, I'm slowly gathering everything to start making fursuits and your videos have been a massive help for inspiration, motivation, and technique. Can't wait to see how it looks all finished. ^^ I have a snow leopard fursona too, she is a snow leopard mixed with fox so she has some snow leopard features like some snow leopard spots on certain areas and fox like tail and ears. Its always nice seeing other snow leopard fursonas out there ^_^

Ok, here goes my story, i was once a furry, between the 14 and 16 years old, i stopped on being a furry cause people saw me like a weirdo and started to say me bad things like "you are so childish" "thats really weird" "its ok if you enjoy it just dont tell it to us", the shame and the hate maked me to stop on being a furry, thats the real reason why i stopped, but actually i heckin love furries, fursuits and the art, the people is so happy, so friendly, makes me feel like in home. Im considering to join a group of fursuit makers, cause i dunno i maybe like to do fursuits, its chilly and relaxing, also by the way and to close, im mexican, but i know how to talk english real good, thanks for reading my quick story ❤

I think the D-ring is very convenient, makes me remember a recent con where we had the fursuit parade right after a morning rain storm and everyone was holding their tails so keep them from dragging in any puddles lol. Maybe making the fabric connecting it to the tail a bit closer in color to the fur could help better hide it when not in use. Still very nice looking!!

Awesome video, can't wait to see how the rest turns out. I always learn a lot from watching your WIPs and tutorials. If I could ask, what settings do you use of sewing faux fur on your machine? I have the same one, but I always end up with the thread overpulling and bunching, even with the fancy pressure foot.

This is helpful for inspiration, Me and my team have been wanting a mascot, but I’m twelve with a bunch of upholstery foam and fur. I’m stuck, and don’t know where to start.

My first suit is based on a snow leopard with pastel rainbow spots and if I ever get good enough with making fur suits I’ll make squeaky paw beans!!!!

THIS IS SO COOL! I’m planning to make my snow leopard oc, Tundra into a partial but it’ll be my first fur suit I’ve ever made, I’ve always been a fan of your videos, they are so helpful , so I have a few questions, if you don’t mind obviously ! Would it be possible to fur a head with just a needle and thread? Patterning fur seems really daunting- is there any tips you would suggest since I’m a newbie at this stuff 🥲 And finally, for the bucket head base what sort of foam would you use?

You can do it!! my heads are completely hand sewn with needle and thread. I have a Tape Patterning tutorial with all my tips on that, and a How to Fur a Fursuit Head tutorial with all my tips there too! i have no other tips to give, i put them all in my tutorials haha. bucket definitely 1/2" foam! if you use 1" for the bucket, your head will turn out absolutely massive and bobble head looking.

I’m watching tutorials on how to make fur suits but the pattern stuff is… very confusing for my 11 self to comprehend, and I’m starting to understand it more and more each day although could use a tut from the almighty talented artist to post one could help a ton!😊 your a huge inspiration to me and I want to start expressing myself in a place I can feel comfortable and, confident and feel like I fit in for once! aw thank you!! I made my first personal suit in June 2018, and honestly by 2019 I had a ton of my friends asking me to make theirs XD I opened for commissions and had a lot of interest! As you keep making different species, you'll start grabbing interest and attention especially if people can see their sona species represented good by you. try not to get into a habit of only making the same species over and over, it'll limit your client base and limit your creative skills! (unless of course you specifically plan to only do one species ever!) practicing with premades at first will help you grow your skills while keeping stress low because there's no deadlines to meet. Posting on insta, twitter, and dealersden for premades seems to work best! FYI though right now the market is really saturated with premades and theyre not selling fast, probably due to the holidays people don't have money right now lol

you can put the templates into poster printing sights or tile print them this will print the templates out over several pages allowing for a larger size. P.S. Skyehigh Studios explains it better in one of her getting started videos. :)

I got it from amazon! I think the link I usually send people is sold out but there's a ton on the site. just search for plastic mannequin head/bust, usually they're 23" circumference.

I don’t have the room to make a fursuit but I wouldn’t mind one :)

I go more into detail in my Headbase tutorials, but overall just 1/2" ! the muzzle pieces are 2" though.

I don't sell the pattern since I'd rather other people draw their own shapes for it, but I have a tutorial guide on how to make the face patterns!
