James Dean was a star when I was in jr high school. All the boys wanted to be him, dressed like him, acted like him. As a girl in the 50s that wasn't a possibility for me, but along came the 60s and I was right there! My favority poem was Sandburg's poem about the Road Not Taken. As an 80 year old I have been thinking a lot about the roads not taken and what my life would have been had I taken them. I think the only regret is that I didn't somehow manage to go the college I wanted, which was known for its creative writing program. I did, however, continue to write my whole life. Never tried to publish, but now that I am 80 I am sharing my poetry online.

In the late 80's my teenager was experiencing teen angst. She told me I didn't understand cause kids her age haven't gone through this. I showed her Rebel Without A Cause. It helped her to understand that some things are ageless and universal and we all go through it, and she was not alone.

In his autobiography, Alec Guinness recounts how he ran into James with his new car, and Alec blurted out a warning about the car causing his death. This wasn't normal for Alec, and he apologized for the outburst and said he was tired, that must be why he blurted out such a grim statement. But soon after, James was killed in the car.

You made me cry with this one,Maryann, I have to believe James came through you with his soulful, and wise insights, despite a short life, teach us to be ourselves no matter what others say. I can hear myself saying it to my grown kids and meaning it, Just wish I had heard it more from my parents! A bittersweet down memory lane. Thanks, darlin'.

One of my favorite quotes. Thought this is so appropriate for James Dean. “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “ Holy sh#& what a ride.” It seems he would really like that quote.

When you mentioned plantation shutters, one of his iconic movies was with Elizabeth Taylor and Rick Hudson in “Giant”. It was set in souther parts of Texas and was about a lot of the things you or he brought up! He also wore a suit like you described on several occasions. His message resonated, be you, enjoy this life, stay in the moment and do not worry about what others say about you! Appreciate our differences and celebrate it all! Beautiful! Thank you!🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

Hello Maryann! uppers and downers were such. norm back them=n. James was an Aquarian-Feb 8-his mother died of cancer when he was 9-his dad sent him back to Indiana from Santa Monica to live with his Aunt and Uncle on their farm. i found a picture of him standing a fence and the background homes could fit the plantation feel-and Panama s also a straw hat-and he did wear straw hats in giant and East of Eden. (he probably wore them working on the family farm also)

James Dean was an amazing person! My favorite movie of this was East of Eden, sort of a take on Caine and Able story. He was very much a person who fought against typecasting and who put his whole into his craft. Highly emotional being and a type A personality! He was a very complex being, often misunderstood, deeply spiritual in psyche, and highly intellectual. Thank you Maryanne, for bringing his message!!😍😍💙💙💙

Oh Maryann I loved this. You should do more channeling. Being a child of the 50s, James Dean was one of my favorites. I married a man who looked just like him. I also loved his message. Dancing always was my passion and I need to persue that more in my old age I guess. About the gay thing….well he was in so many movies with Rock Hudson (who was gay) maybe that’s where people got their impression of him. Anyway your channeling brought me back to my teen years and made me smile today. Thank you! ❤️

(It’s a classic car show mostly) He was born in a small farming town called Fairmont, Indiana. On the way to Fairmont, taking the back roads, you can see the world’s largest paint ball. Lol. Maryanne, your reading was a delight and I especially enjoyed your joy in it. James Dean was a legend who like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley grew in stature because of his early death. He also brought a certain mystery to his acting. You knew there was a lot going on inside him and he enticed you into searching for it...sort of the way he delivered this message to you. Thank you for being the messenger, Maryanne.

Thank you for this channeling, Maryann! Something resonated with me when you mentioned the example of not pigeon-holing a Qanon member. It occurred to me that if people on both “sides” could see each other in a more expansive way, we might be able to transcend this right vs. left nightmare we’ve been experiencing. Of course, the will and understanding to do this are needed on both sides, so it’s a tricky prospect, but it is a potential solution.

Dean died in 1955, so a long way from making to the 60's. He was way ahead of his time, what today we call Pan Sexual. He was around a lot of other gay actor's like Sal Mineo, Rock Hudson, or his fellow Method Actor Marlon Brando. He refused to b e pigeonholed and would stage events to shock someone like Natalie Wood, who he felt was too attached by letting her catch him with Sal Mineo. He knew he wouldn't make old bones, just like Marilyn Monroe. I have heard the intense pull on stars like those two can be difficult on the other side.

I read an article about rock Hudson. He and Dean were in a movie together and did not like each other. One day, in front of the entire cast and crew dean grabbed Hudson and French kissed him. Of course in those days Hudson's sexuality was hidden. I think Dean did it to embarrass Hudson. Possibly that's where the speculation about dean's orientation came from.

Thank you, Maryann! James Dean was unique, certainly! His natal chart is really interesting: Sun in Aquarius, Moon in Scorpio, Venus in Capricorn, Mars in Leo. Asc. was in Aries conjunct Uranus in Aries.

Truly enjoyed the James Dean channel....how lucky to die young....Brittney, I just saw a new interview with her and she seems like someone still not comfortable in her own skin but like she is really trying to give herself a chance, I hope she pulls through and becomes a strong woman....

While working as an Aftercare counselor at a substance abuse tx center, I found a book that compared the addiction process with the creative process. You described that very well. The ups and downs that cannot be sustained in either area.. Being creative and becoming addictive are similar. Those always a "new" high.
