I slaved away in a dungeon for many years. One day drove away from that place, bought a piece of land in the forest next to a creek and crafted a log cabin from the standing trees. I lived there for four short years hiking in the hills and swimming in the rivers. In the winter I learned to love the rain as it softly tapped upon my tin roof. With the doors and windows open I would sleep happily through the night and awake strong and calm.

Don't you worry too much, with the effort you put into your work you already stand far ahead of your competition here on youtube. Constantly keep educating yourself on and consequently practice cinematography to acquire a set of skills to the point where your skills get sought after. Then money will slowly become less and less of a problem. Get in touch with other filmmakers, learn from them. If asked for credentials you can proudly present a YT channel with 6 million hits. That's one hell of an achievement already! After you get to know the right people (local news, bloggers, documentary filmmakers) invite them to do a report about you and your work, get some exposure. Just be patient, while being proactive. Take chances, be creative, be innovative, engage with people. And don't let your doubts hold you back. I'm certain that if you keep at it you will be able to live off your filmmaking sooner than you might think right now.
