Viv, there probably isn't one subscriber who hasn't suffered from burnout. We love everything you show us: tutorials, fabric hauls, vintage patterns, tips and tricks, your sisters, etc. You are an inspiration to all of us.

Hi! I don’t give feedback often, but I would say we all tune in because of your enjoyable personality and we can not get that from other channels. To address what you do on your channel… do whatever you feel like. We will follow! We all love your makes, basic or complicated, so “make what you want”! We all love your tutorials, so when you “feel” like teaching, teach! We love your fabric hauls and pattern hauls, but if you think you have enough, we are all happy to wait until you take that up again. Do not think anything is too basic or too complicated or uninteresting, because your audience is wide and your topics will speak to many! I find burnout happens most in my business when I constantly do what others want and not what I want. That’s when the pressure builds. Trying to keep things “interesting” is a lot of pressure. But sewing in itself is interesting and so are you. You do not need to try or search to keep it interesting. People ultimately admire and tune in when you are being you (because that is when you are relaxed and at your best)!❤

My first reason for watching your videos is because I enjoy watching you, as a person. You are genuine & so encouraging, every time. As much as I love sewing, sewing & clothing is a far second to the sense of community you bring to your channel, for me. Glad for whatever content you want to share, but I also understand needing mental breaks! :)

Viv, don’t worry yourself to death over the content of your videos, bring us whatever you want, cooking, baking, cat talk, or sewing, we will watch because we come back for you, not just your content. Take care.

I’ve actually went out and bought a couple of patterns you showed us and come up with a pretty good stuff. Please always take care of yourself first, and make sure you continue to take those much needed breaks.

VivMom: When I saw this 5 minute video pop up, it scared me, thinking you had bad news for us faithful followers. BUT...since you're not leaving us, I'm relieved. I'm glad you recognize your stress level and can pull back and take a break. You're an intelligent, healthy woman and I'd hate to have you feel unenthusiastic about making the videos we all love. So, just know we'll love any content you offer and hope you take it easy and enjoy all you do. BTW...your other interests would be great to see; we like watching YOU with your bubbly personality, not just seeing what you sew. Cook, bake, we'll love it all ! Thanks for all you do, Nancy in Mobile.

I don't get tired of your content. Also I'd like to say that when I see you've posted a new video I feel like a dear friend is coming over, I feel happy

Hi, I just wanted to say that I feel you should not pressure yourself to compete with other channels. Your personality sets you apart from others , and there's nothing wrong with sharing your basics. There's nothing wrong with sharing that you need a break or not buying more fabric or patterns. There are some videos that share a lot of content but if you don't care much for their personality you might watch their video once in a while but not want to subscribe. So take away the pressure, be you, and share what is you and we will watch. Hugs

I'm grateful you posted this video. You are one of the original sewing channels, so even if you slow things down a lot, I really hope you'll always be here. I'm sure you have so many other good things to be doing, so thank you for sharing so much of your time with us! You have been such a source of joy over the last four years! Please feel good about videos that share even one make at a time. The times you show and discuss several patterns or talk about several pieces of fabric you already own, are just as fun to watch as the new hauls and longer makes videos. Personally, I would also love to see your basic makes. A lot of us struggle with getting around to doing those and have lots of mismatched items in our wardrobe. I also like to see the patterns you've paired up to make outfits, another thing I tend to struggle with. Bottom line, you are just right (aka perfect!) in my opinion. Yours is the channel I go to when I want to feel happier. I dare say you've made tens of thousands of us happier in many ways on many days! You are a blessing! Thank you again! 💜

So happy to hear from you. I just need a nudge to start sewing again. My chicks have all flown the nest; so I retired my sewing machines, etc. when I moved. Long story short I dug out my old faithful Singer. I was almost drooling as I wiped it down and plugged it in. And nothing, not a thing came on. I’m dealing with my grief. But would appreciate seeing you sew again. I’m out of the loop but want to look at new machines. Do you or anyone have a favorite. Welcome back Viv. TK

You don’t need to worry or be stressed out if you are thinking we need new or exciting content!! Speaking for myself, I LOVE everything you bring to the (sewing) table!!😊 It doesn’t matter one bit if it’s simple, easy, quick, done before, or “tried and true”!!! Your fabric/pattern combinations and “try-ons” along with your honesty on problems you encountered when sewing your garments is like nothing else ANYWHERE on You-tube!!! I watch a lot of other sewists, but you, my dear, are my most favorite!!!🌸🌺❣️❣️❣️

I just plain LOVE to see what you have sewn. You have a great knack for matching patterns to fabric. Its always a surprise when I see what you did with the fabric! Plus you are fun to listen to--very normal without a lot of "putting on airs". Not everyone here in this space can do that. That said, you NEED a break! I get it! Just really glad to see you back!

I have been struggling to get back to sewing, but am realizing how many tricks and tips I don't know. This morning, New Years Day 2024, I watched you sew a top. The fabric had little cartoon dogs on it. A bound collar facing, sleeves and slits on the sides. The binding was awesome and the crunching way you installed the sleeves , was pure genius! I would love to watch you do more sewing. You inspire me and I'll bet many others too!

We all have been there and we are too hard on ourselves. Sewing should be relaxing and enjoyable. When we start stressing as to what to sew or we have too many projects going and we get on our selves to “have” to complete them, it’s not enjoyable any longer. Then I find that I won’t even go in my sewing room or I think “maybe this afternoon “ or “tomorrow”. Then when I don’t I feel “down”. We DON’T have to put this timeline on ourselves! So don’t you think about us….just do what is good for you!!! Love you !!!

This has been a very busy year for you. I am glad that you listened to your heart and to your body and have taken a break. Post when you want to and how often you want to. We will love whatever you do. When you are ready MAKE what YOU love. Watching you is like having a friend who enjoys what we are doing. I don't have any friends who sew much (I do have a friend who is an embroidery enthusiast) and watching you is really enjoyable. Is there anything that you are wanting to do? One thing that has inspired me to get back to sewing is Project Dress a Girl. So far this month I have made 5 dresses and I have one more cut out. I am going to try to do one dress a month for the charity. It brings me joy. Dresses for the wee ones are a great way to use up smaller remnants in my stash. Another thing that is inspiring me is the fact that many of my friends are becoming grandmothers. I am enjoying making handmade gifts for the babies.

Most people like to see how real sewists handle their areas & work. I like to have sewing videos on while I'm in my sewing room. I like the sounds :-)). Be well. Be happy & plz be healthy. Turn on the camera & just sew. Laugh, chat & find ur joy again.

you have sewn so much- putting out one video a month filled with new items... ive always been amazed by the amount...its so understandable that you cant do that forever... you are a creative human, not a machine ! and anyhow: slowing down will be good. eventhough the rush is super understandable, always new fabrics arise, the youtube community loves your videos and demands more and more... BUT: how much items you really need in your wardrobe? how much of this precious energy you put in is maybe wasted, just for the sake of putting out new content, for the yt crowd...all done with love... i would totally love different content as well, i think you are so much more then just the sewing viv. love your humour and personality and totally can imagine the things that you do besides sewing would be of interest for me and other viewers !!! love from germany

Viv, I agree with all the lovely sentiments here! They are stated much better than I ever could. I don't post much, but know I've been with you from your very first video, and like another poster, yours is the one I go to first to watch. Take breaks whenever you need them, we're all in the same boat! I only sewed 1 dress all summer too, but I only want to sew when it doesn't feel forced, and you should follow your heart too. Bless you for being you. Hugs❤🤗

I am a newish sewer & I have loved watching all your videos as you are so bubbly & upbeat! I would watch you making whatever you want to sew. Basics are something we often don’t make but need & I would still watch you making those types of garments. Don’t feel you have to show us so many makes in each video, even one would still keep me coming back. It’s not just about the styles but your fabric choices that are interesting as you show a pattern & how it comes to life in ways I would never have thought of. Take care of yourself, do what you want & what makes you happy. You make me happy listening to you!

Great to see you, Viv, but you mustn’t worry so much about content - I don’t know how you manage to do so much sewing! You’ve certainly inspired me to be more adventurous with fabric and patterns, mind you, I start projects but don’t always finish (my wide leg pants still need hemming from when you and Joy had that challenge! 🤣) Catch up with us when you are ready - you’ve had a very busy year! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕

Viv thanks for posting to let us know you are OK. I'm relatively new to sewing and I really enjoy watching your videos and the way you relate to your youtube 'family". With the amount of sewing that you were doing I can understand how you would feel 'burnt out' but just know that we are all still here for you and love listening and watching anything that you would like to share.

Do not worry about, time for pants etc. I would love to see cooler weather garments that are comfy as well as stylish and that coordinate!!! Happy sewing !!!!

We all need a break once in a while, and weddings will do it. There is nothing wrong with basics. It's also very good to here about "ordinary" patterns that are -- difficult, or easy (but it's always useful to hear about the tricky stuff that will make you cry if you aren't prepared.) Take care of yourself.

No pressure Vivmon.. I have always had a dream to sew most of my own clothes and have recently come to the conclusion that it’s just not going to happen so I am letting the dream go, I will still sew but just the occasional fun piece of clothing…I guess we have to remind ourselves we are not defined by our hobbies but by the way we live our lives and treat others…I loved seeing what you made but ultimately I watched your videos for the person that you were…god bless from Australia 🇦🇺

Welcome back! Glad to see you and it’s understandable. I hear you and you are not done! I enjoy your channel and your makes. I love that you make up old patterns in your stash and that’s encourages me to do the same. And aren’t we all lured by patterns sales !😊 It’s in us sewers DNA! So, take your time and go through your patterns for fall and winter and sew them up and show and tell us all about it! 😊 God bless.

I love you and your channel. I found you when my mom and dad were battling covid and my dad died from it in 2020. You got me through a lot of long nights. I enjoy all of your videos. If you’re burned out on sewing there are plenty of videos you could do with sharing your sewing knowledge. I could really benefit from knowing what size needle to use with what fabrics, how to tell the difference in what type of knits there are - Joann Fabrics just labels it as knit and I have no idea what it is - how to use pre packaged bias seam binding instead of facings, different tips on marking fabrics. So many things we can learn from you. Thank you for updating us. Take care of you! We’ll still be here when you’re ready to come back.

Hey there, Viv! Good to see and hear from you again. Whatever you put up we’re watching, but I would also enjoy (and benefit) from hearing from you on choosing fabrics for the clothing we want. I don’t know much about top weight? vs. bottom weights? It’s hard to buy things online when you don’t understand a lot of the jargon in the fabric and sewing world. (Just a thought.) Hope to see you again soon. Blessings!❤

I really don’t care what you show us , I’m just glad you do and every time I watch I learn something from you . I understand that you can get burn out so just work at your own pace and whatever makes you happy just do it . Also I watch a few on you tube who sometimes do a ‘day in my life vlog’ these can also be interesting because we are all quite inquisitive lol. Take care look after yourself xx

Glad to see you back. This time in US and the world is troubling. We all need to turn towards heaven. .... enough preaching. Missed you and happy to see you smile! It does seem like you were sewing sooo many pieces some months, I could believe that could contribute to burn out. I would guess it’s only normal/typical for a channel to evolve as we grow/ as our life changes/ health/ interest, etc. May God be your guide in all things. Jeanine from Cajun Louisiana

I think I was your 79th sub and I've always enjoyed seeing as well as been inspired by your makes. The primary reason I like watching videos about lined jackets, frilly dresses, or athletic wear is because of the lovely ladies who are sewing what they want to make/wear. While I could sew those garments, I'm a basics gal. My last 2 makes were Kwik Sew 3363 shorts and I'll probably sew 1200 more. It may be Fall, but it's 89 in FL today. Viv, you're delightful to watch and it's great to see you again! Happy sewing!

Oh VIv. We love whatever you do. When I met with Trish (Pinky's Farm) recently we were both saying you are what inspired us years ago to really wear our home made garments with confidence and we never ever tire of your makes videos! We still rewatch them when short of ideas. I quote you all the time, do what you are happy with of course but you are unique, we could never match your style nor want to. Basics all the way please, sew it up fast is my motto and get wearing it😂 So pleased to hear all is well (sort of!!) with you ❤
