I am UK. I come out of home then half mile on the left to ferry. 5 hours then to Cherbourg, France. Off the Ferry, drive on the right. 1200 miles to Africa or 3000 miles to Teheran, Iran. I am so used to the roads, I know what they should look like driving on the right so it’s automatic. There is a French guy who regularly passes through here on a triangular route. Moscow, Russia to Lisbon, Portugal then to Birmingham, England finally Moscow, Russia. There is a company that does Birmingham, England to Vladivostok, Russia. Round trips.

They are "Truckies". Not a massive amount. They work long hours in some of the most inhospitable country in the world. It takes a special breed of human to live and work out here. Ya gotta love it.
